For about the past 9 months my home phone rings 3 seperate times for about 2 rings each every day about the same time. I called the phone company and the suggested I change my number. I can't change my number, they can't help me. Is this some sort of computer generated wake up service or Gov. plot to drive me crazy? It's not so bad to get a wake up call at 6 A.M. but when we have a time change it's going to be 5 A.M. and on Sunday that is to darn early. Any idea what is going on here? Did I piss off some telemarketer?

If there is a feature of wake up call then it is, I think from your story it isn't. The best thing you can do is to buy a new phone. A phone that has a feature of blocking calls not in your list from a specific time. Like what I am using presently, the feature if activated will accept only VIP calls from my list during 9 evening till 6 in the morning.

Most telephones have an off button. i know that for many though this is not good but if you have for example a cell also you may want to turn the house phone off at night and keep the cell beside you for emergencies. Tell friends and family who may call why so they will know what number to call. Have you tried switching phones to see if it is something programmed into the phone?
Also you may check caller id and see if the number they call from can be traced or blocked through the telephone company. If it is always the same number I think they can block it.

That would make me crazy too. Get caller ID. Once you have some statistics, you can file a police report. If you can't get caller ID, unplug the phone. (don't leave it off ook. After the warble, the phone co will disable it.)

Get Caller ID and track the company down.

Then take your phone off the hook when you get up to pee in the middle of the night.

Leave it off the hook before you go to bed. If you miss it that eary it's bad news anyway so it wont matter if you hear about it later.
