The Prophet Mohammad is considered the last Prophet. He received the last of the revelations from God, The Quran. He is the greatest since he is the last. Although he performed no miracles that are mentioned in the Quran, he did receive the Quran which, to Muslims, is the Miracle. Jesus on the other hand, performed many miracles, and his birth was also a miracle. He too received the word of God and he too delivered the message to the people he was assigned to. He is very special. So special that he is the Massiah who will return on the Last Day. So Muslim do believe all this.

But don't be confused. Jesus is not divine, his is the messenger of God like all others before him. It is God that makes all things possible, he can make Jesus to be born to the Virgin Mary also.

As far as Jessus being the Messiah, you need to understand that the word Messaih means one thing to the Jews and the Muslims, and quite another to the Christians. To the Christians, Messiah means, "Son of God". To the Jews, who by the way, invented the word, Messiah, it means someone who, with divine intervention from God, will be assigned a special task to fullfil at a certain time. That is what the Muslims believe also. The only difference is that Muslims beileve that Jesus was born through divine intervention from God, by a miracle to a virgin. That means he is the Messiah and he will return on the Last Day. Muslims also believe that Jesus did not die on the cross, it was simply made to appear that way. God took him back and he will return on the Last Day. Jews, on the other hand don't believe Jesus was born to a virgin, hence, no diviine interventon took place. So the Messiah will be someone else.

The source of the problem is that the Christians have the wrong menaing of the Messiah.

Christianity is a cult derived from the Jewish tradition (that's why "The Holy Bible" the old and the new testament), and Islam is a cult derived from Christianity-that is why they respect Christ, and Moses but don't think of him to be as importan as the next prophet Muhammad. In judeochristian cosmogony you have one prophet before Chist, Moses. And he is not as important-for the Christians-as Christ, and Muhammad is next in line until the next cult derives from Islam It will never end!
As long as tere are peple who believe it such nonsenses as religions!

Jesus is not as RELEVANT to Muslems as Muhammad. The Koran clearly lists an order of authority that goes from Moses to David to Jesus and then to Muhammad. But much like Christians really only follow what Paul teaches, Muslims really only follow what Muhammad teaches.

Jesus is considered one of the beloved prophets of Islam. However he is not considered the greatest, we love all the prophets equally!

You are right, we do not consider him god. or son of God.

Because muhammad invented himself to be the greatest prophet, bigger than Jesus and all Judeo-Christian prophets. He was creating a new religion and there had to be a Messiah, him. He offered nothing new, he had no miracles, he was 600 years too late, and when the people proved not to be gullible, he and his small band of impressionable poor folks took to force.

To make it simple. Each Prophet was sent to the nation of his time, but Muhammed(peace be upon him) was sent to all of mankind till the end of time. He was the last and he came with the final revalation. He is our Prophet and we are of his nation.

Cus then they'd be Christians.

The last prophet always gets to make a new religion. Look at Mormons, or Falun Gong.
