My man is stationed at Fort Campbell. He was in Iraq up until the 29th of Sept. When he first got back he claimed that they were on lock down and can't leave the base. The reason is because of some of the guys getting DUI's and getting in trouble. He doesn't call me and is online very sparadically. He says that they are working all the time and he has no time to get a cell phone. He is in the 101st Division 2. If you are in Fort Campbell or know someone who is there can you tell me if they are really on lock down? I am not a fan of being given the run around and want to believe him...but I believe my women's intuition more. Thanks for your imput.

I think he's telling the truth. Bases do that. Don't believe your woman's intuition. honestly with a guy in the military it's impossible. Things will always seem to be fishy, but that's the way the military is. They don't want to lose any of their soldiers or have them get in trouble. It reflects poorly on the service. I know we had a ridiculous crufew for awhile because of some rowdyness going on at night. We had to be in our rooms by 945 every night. They're just trying to help their soldiers. I hope you get to talk to him and see him soon!!

The unit is usually on some type of lockdown soon after re-deploying, on average about two weeks. But honestly, if you have such little trust for him and think he may be giving you the run around, you should move on or at least back off. If you think he needs space, then give him some. He may be really stressed from all they have going on and all that he has been through, so please, for the sake of your relationship, don't make it harder by nagging him about calling and writing. When a man is being distant, sometimes the best thing we ladies can do is leave them alone and focus on ourselves. That'll get their heads turning. Men start to pull away when we get clingy. And it peaks their interest when we become more independent of them. I hope everything works out for y'all.

I dont know if he is lying, but I will tell you what I have heard. After they return from Iraq they are held for about 2 weeks to decompress, and be debriefed. My fiance is in Iraq, and told me that is the normal process upon return to the states, so I dont know if something out of the ordinary is happening to your boyfriend. Call and ask his Key Volunteer for his platoon.

Ok, my fiance called from Iraq last night and told me it is usually 10 days they have to stay at the base once they return to the States. He siad it goes very quickly once they return and are able to come home from the base. Call the base.

My advise would be to keep yourself busy with your life. Don't let him have control over your happiness. You be happy for you. This will relieve a great burden from him, and will free you in the process. Give him some free rein for awhile. He's acclimating himself to the states. If your relationship is strong he'll be back on track in no time. If you can't hang with that then you would be best to move on too.
