Braid it at night (try the twist braids, where you twist two pieces in one direction and wind them the opposite direction, that will definitely give you the spiral effect!), use curlers at night, use mousse and 'scrunch' it after brushing your hair (when it's wet), and it you use gel, try the same thing, but use a really light gel, or mix it with water (also when it's wet!)....

To amplify my waves I;;
1)Use Schwarzkopf Flexible hold mouse, or any mouse Tresseme is great too.
2)On towel dried hair, tip head upside down and scrunch loads.
3)Then tip head back up again, then comb top and scrunch with a hand full of mousse.
4)Using a diffuser, on lowest heat and speed, scrunch hair with that.
5)Scrunch for the last time after difusing, then spritz with hairspray and woola!
Hope i helped and good luck! =)

here are some suggestions to get wavy/curly hair. i havent tried some of them, but i ve heard that they work-
curl with iron or rollers
put some hairspray in ur hair before going to bed and the tossing and moving will create random waves
braid ur hair and when u remove it there will be waves
put some defining product in ur hair and keep twirling it around ur finger. then, finger comb gently through to separate the waves
use sea salt spray or surf spray. sea salt will give really pretty beach waves
use mousse
scruch it with gel
good products:
aussie scrunch spray
garnier fructis curling gel spray
good luck!

wash and set your hair with medium sized rollers using a good setting lotion
let your hair dry before taking out the rollers and set your curls in to place using your fingers.
I have said medium sized rollers as i do not know what length your hair is, the rollers should be able to turn round at least 2 - 3 times to give the result that you want

I'm need the answer to this question too.....So far, I know you didn't want heat, but a diffuser on a blow dryer works pretty well....Only sometimes though, I need a sure thing...Its going to make pretty curls everytime and not a frizz ball. ....
