basic pay is based on paygrade and time in service.
Allowances and other pays will vary, based on job skill, duty location, Branch and other variables.
Pay is deposited on the 15th and 1st of each month, for the previous two weeks. you can earn up to 30 days per year of vacation time. This is accrued from day one, and you can bank up to 30 days to roll over to the next year, but you cannnot have more than 60 days on the books at the end of the year.

It depends on if you enlist, or go in as an officer.
If you enlist, you make less than an officer. To be an officer, this requires a degree.
It varies on many things.
If you are single, you get regular pay, free room and food. The more years, time in rank, and your rank, if you are in a hazardous mos, overseas....
Many factors come into play in the pay...
If you are married, you get housing money and food money in your paycheck.
It is not a lot. Most people dont see money until around e6. In the Corps, that takes 12-15 years, but, not always. You have to want to do it for other reasons than the money. If you are worried you can not make it on the pay, they make sure you are taken care of.

As with every big employer, you start off at the bottom. Depending on you education level. The lowest is $1200.00
What must be taken into consideration is all the additional pay you get on top of that basic pay. Your basic pay is the only portion that is taxable. As a E-6 with 10 years and a family my monthly check is alittle over $5K. But I'm a recruiter and work out of the Philadelphia area. The first $2800 is my only taxable portion.

My husband, as an E-6 with 8 years in, BAH w/dependent (housing allowance), and special duty pay brings home 3600/month after taxes, deductions, etc.
Varies by rank, years in, special pay, and then there are special allowances when deployed (Family Separation Pay, Imminent Danger Pay, Save Pay, etc).
