I agree, the arguments need to go. However, civilized debate should remain. It's a way to learn and to grow.

Have you ever argued with someone or not gotten along with someone?

If so, you have your answer.

NB: Keep in mind, though, that argument is not in and of itself a bad thing. Not at all. Debate and disagreement is healthy. One can argue and be nice at the same time.

But, to rephrase what I said above, if you have ever not been nice or ever argued, all you need to do to answer your question about why others don't do such-and-such is to look at your own life. "Why do people do this?" is best answered, a lot of times, with, "Why do I do this?"

I would love it. When I no longer see any pro-life and sexual orientation is as choice questions than I would never be less than pleasant.

because one group of people, and their beliefs, are offensive in their very nature to another group of people and their beliefs.
