You can use golden syrup, honey or molasses. It will change the intended taste just a bit, but the consistency will stay basically the same.

take sugar and water 2 cups sugar 1 cup water cook until it is the soft ball stage that is when you drop in cold water it is a thick syrup....it is a basic simple syrup but cooked a little longer...

You could use honey or molasses.Both are sweeter but would work, just use the same amount as you would the corn syrup.Good luck!!

Sugar and water - put a cup of sugar and enough water to cover and cook till sugar dissolves - that is what I have done in the past
