The words translated 'spirit' (Heb. ru'ach and Gr. pneu'ma) refer to the life force animating a living creature. You could compare it to the electricity powering a radio. When we die, the spirit leaves our bodies, which become lifeless. However, the spirit does not have a consciousness of it's own, any more than the electricity leaving the radio does.
In regards to our flesh:
The Hebrew word translated “soul” is ne´phesh, and it occurs 754 times in the Hebrew Scriptures. What does ne´phesh mean? According to The Dictionary of Bible and Religion, it “usually refers to the entire living being, to the whole individual.” This is borne out by the Bible’s description of the soul at Genesis 2:7: “God proceeded to form the man out of dust from the ground and to blow into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man came to be a living soul.” Note that the first man “came to be” a soul. That is to say, Adam did not have a soul; he was a soul—just as someone who becomes a doctor is a doctor. The word “soul,” then, here describes the whole person.

Of course. Your spirit is your soul and eternal living being. It enters a body in uttero to be born again. We come back to Earth many times to strengthen our souls. We are here to go through experiences that give our souls growth. If we do not do it right and grow enough this time around we got to do it again. Our souls are eternal. They live on the other side or in our flesh and bones. When our physical bodies die our soul lives on but moves to the other side (heaven). We study and learn there to but at a slower rate. If we wish to speed up our growth we elect to be born in a body again.
Our souls chart the course from the Other Side. We can not change our course if life but we can make it better. We can grow spiritually and be closer to God. Our body is just a house or temple for our spirits. We must take care of this temple which houses our souls because if we dont our soul go back without learning to our fullest potential.
So yes, spirit (soul) and flesh (body) is different and separate yet they reside together in this lifetime.

Galatians 5:17
For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish.
The Bible refers to the flesh as our old man of sin and the spirit as that which is new in Christ by His Spirit.

Yes. Your flesh is your body. It will die eventually. Your spirit will live eternally. You alone can make the choice to have eternal life with God in heaven or have your soul cast into a literal burning hell. It may be a hard concept to grasp while living here "in the flesh" but it will be all too clear of our day of judgement. May you choose wisely.

The spirit is inside, and the flesh is outside. the body is just something to house the spirit. the spirit will rule the body or (flesh)and you will do good things or bad things, it is according to which SPIRIT you follow, Christ, or SATAN.IF you do bad ungodly things you are ruled by the flesh (Satan).. If you are good and do righteous things then you are ruled by the Spirit (THE LORD).

Our body (the flesh) is the Temple, our soul is who we are and the 'spirit' is the Holy Spirit (applies to Chirstians only). Our body is the Temple of God where God dwells. It will someday dies and decay. Our souls would then leave us. Our spirit is our guidance for God has given us His spirit.

Jesus(pbuh) is on earth, the spirit is flying around, and God is supposedly in the sky, there must be a difference being 3 places at once, having three different thought processes and purposes
