Stay strong. I quit a couple weeks ago and my fingernails are ragged little nubs, my jaw hurts from chewing gum, and I've been a satanic b***h, but it is getting slightly better.

Congratulations ! I quit cold turkey also, but I told myself, I could smoke if I wanted to, that took the pressure off of the word "never" in my mind. I limited the places I would smoke, cleaned out my car, deodorized and swore never to smoke in there again. I never smoked in my house so that was not a problem, then said I won't smoke at work. Finally, I guess I ran out of places to smoke. Good luck, chew lots of gum or sugar free candies. Snack on popcorn, etc. The urge will pass. You probably are having urges about the same time everyday, when you used to smoke at that time. Prepare for that and block that time frame out with something else, like going to a movie or grocery shopping. Its not only the smoking habit that is hard to break, its the our 'creatures of habits' on timing.
Again, good luck and God Bless!

Sit back and think about all of the money you'll save in the long run. Then, consider how many cigs you actually craved in a day, as opposed to just smoke out of boredom. If you only really NEED one or two cigs a day, you can probably just limit yourself to those ones. Remember-smoking cigarettes won't definitely give you cancer, it's just likely to. I'm not a doctor or anything, but if you really can't go without one you should either get the patch, a piece of nicotine gum, or just smoke a cigarette. Just force yourself to only smoke when you really need one, not whenever you want to occupy your hands/mouth.

The question is, would you kill yourself...slowly and painfully... for just one?
I've known smoking was bad for your health and never wanted to smoke since I was three. Since then, I have spent my lifetime watching my parents smoke, quit, try to quit, have nasty breath, suffer lung cancer, suffer bronchitis, suffer emphysema, spend family reunions in the car smoking, send Christmas and birthday gifts that have to be aired out for six months before I can use them because they reek of stale cigarette smoke, and cough their way through long distance phone calls with me. I just don't even call home any more if I can help it. It breaks my neart too much for me to handle. My whole life, I been grieving for my parents. And I'm powerless to do anything about it, because that little paper tube full of tobacco is bigger than they are.
Look around your life at the people who love you. How much heartache are you willing to give them so you can get that little paper tube?
