I'd use Mount Gay or Meyers.

There are a lot of great flavored rums at the store now. Try one by Cruzan. ( Mango, Coconut, Orange, Banana, Pineapple, etc.) They are good and affordable and since you are making punch and adding alot of fruit juices, ginger ale, sliced fruit, etc., there is no need to buy anything expensive. Add a dash (or three!) of Amaretto as well! Trust me on this.... I am a bartender!

Captain Morgan's silver or bacardi. You can use bacardi in a lot of mixes. Try this one. Take and buy a bottle of tom collins mix, a bottle of club soda, grenadine, marchino cherries. For a single serving put 4 oz tom collins mix, 1 oz bacardi, 1oz club soda, mix and pour over ice. Then add a couple of cherries and a dash of grenadine. Its really good.

Try Capt Morgan's Silver Spiced Rum. Mix it with pineapple juice - very yummy, very smooth, very dangerous! ;-)

for a light rum, i would recommend bacardi silver or limon (puerto rico) for a dark rum, gosling's black seal (bermuda) and for a gold rum, bacardi gold

Captain Morgan has those flavored parrot bays now: pineapple & mango, or regular coconut. They're pretty good
