Heck i'm still waiting on the day without "american citizens" that many anti immigration groups claimed they were going to do.the way I see it its all bs on both sides.Yeah some cities have passed laws to bann anyone renting or housing illegals but already people and businesses are banning together to sue them.Yeah bush approved the building of the wall on the border but yet again he forgot to get enough funding for it.For every victory that the anti illegal side claims there is,there is a downside to it and a victory for the pro immigrant side. All nothing but bs on both sides till the election year is over.

If the United States quit handing out foreign aid tomorrow, and buying oil, there's a whole string of 3rd world countries that'd fold up like a cheap kite...

Illegals are a sleeper cell sent here to change our country. If they want rights and better lives. They should change their own country. They say they are honest hard workers. They don't work hard enough to change their country. And honest people don't break laws. They thumb their noses at our laws all the time. Many fled their own country where they were criminals on the run.

you forget our government gets our money off the top so we do not have a choice about providing for them....but I agree - there should be HUGE fines (jail for 2nd offense) for any person or organization, including churches, that harbors an illegal. " I didn't know" could not be a defense!

Attrition thru strict local, state & federal enforcement

Sure, but that won't happen as long as we elect Republicans, who want voiceless, cheap labor that doesn't vote. Powerful businesses who contribute to Republican politicians want to make sure that they have access to their cheap, non-unionized labor force.
Think about it: Republicans have been in control of congress for at least 8 years now. What have they done about it? Exactly nothing. At least Clinton initiated welfare reform. Bush hasn't done squat.
