In English, pepperoni refers to a spicy Italian-American variety of dry salami made of beef, pork and often veal. Pepperoni is a descendant of the spicy salamis of Southern Italy, such as salsiccia Napoletana piccante, a spicy dry sausage from Naples. But to make a long story short: pepperoni is the best thing on the whole damn planet!

It's the tiny shreds of meat left on a carcass after the abattoir has taken whatever they want off of the cow. They then blast the bones with high pressure water to get every little piece of meat off. They then get all the offal, eyes, balls, nose, ears, entrails, fat etc, mix it with a concoction of whey, flour, salt, flavourings, E numbers and whatever else they want to bulk it up, blend it all up to make a mush and put into skins and there you have it.

But these are also the basic ingredient for your average meat pie, Cornish pasty, sausages, ready meals etc, etc, etc.

Enjoy your dinner!

Meat with lots and lots of saturated FAT. Very high in calories and very bad for you. The meat is a mix of beef, pork. Look on the label for the types of meat.
Take a piece of pepperoni and microwave it on a napkin, for 30 seconds. What do you see? It releases all the fat into the napkin that is the moisure that you see. And it shrivels up once the fat is gone. Now try it?
