Okay..I know that there is fifty million people with this problem. I had my tubes tied over 5 years ago after my son was born. I had him naturally but the next day they cut open my old C-section scar to tie my tubes. I'm over a week late, took 4 HPT, all were neg. Went to ER last night & got blood test...still neg. I am having every symptom of pregnancy. Someone told me it could be endometriosis, but in researching that it still doesn't fit. I know what it's like to be pregnant...I FEEL like I am and I want to believe all the tests, but still can't. I am not trying to do this to myself because I am bored...I just FEEL like they are wrong. I know I am not imagining these symptoms just to convince myself. I am a rational person and want to believe these tests. Something is still telling me that I am. Do I sound crazy?!?!? I feel like I am and I'm sure I'm driving hubby crazy! Last night after ER...hubby & I saw a shooting star as soon as we got out of truck. Now you think I'm crazy!

I am 26 years old so I don't believe that I am going through menopause. In 5 yrs I have never had this happen. Not to mention that I had a really bad infection after the dr. did my tubal ligation and he has had more than ONE person get pregnant after he tied their tubes (I checked w/ his office)...not trying to argue, just make it accurate. Thanks for all your help...!

If the qualitative HCG blood test was negative, is improbable - but not impossible! - that you could be pregnant. I would be concerned about the possibility of a tubal or otherwise ectopic pregnancy. Tubal ligations are not 100%; the failure rate is approximately 1 case in every 300-500 women. Also, the rates of failure are higher in younger women [http://www.emedicine.com/med/topic3313.htm]. There have also been many academic citations of tubal pregnancies ocurring in absence of a positive blood test [one quick example is the case report, "Acute tubal pregnancy in negative pregnancy test" in the German medical journal Gynakol Geburtshilfliche Rundsch; 1993;33 Suppl 1:321]. Don't be afraid to keep talking to your gyn about this; ectopic pregnancies can be potentially life-threatening and this your health we're talking about...that's their job. Ask for 2 Beta HCG blood test to be conducted 48 hours apart; if the results double, then you are pregnant...if there is a halving of the results in 48 hours, you had a miscarriage. If the test is completely negative (-5), you are not and were never pregnant. Other things to consider could be certain hormonal conditions or disorders that might be causing you to experience the symptoms; again, simply press your doc for further investigation into the cause and any potential treatment as appropriate. Good luck to you.

Well .. 1.) if your tubes are tied...they are tied. Theres really no way around that to get pregnant.
2.) Just because you are a rational person doesnt mean your mind cant trick you. Believe me I am a very rational person too and ever since this summer...Ive learned the power of the brain through my own experience... You might have just 1 symptom that went along with pregnancy ( i know there are many ) and because you are scared AND through learned association, your brain is creating the other ones... like..im not sure if hot flashes are a symptom of pregnancy...but just as an example..you had 1 symptom of pregnancy then the same day you go outside or something and its warm out...a little bit of sweat forms on your forhead. You are already worried about being pregnant..you are tuned in to your bodies changes and you feel the sweat and you think (omg..its a hotflash)..which makes your heart race and temperature go up making you feel like you have one.(this sounds wierd if you havent studied this kind of thing but its real). Im not saying you are doing it on purpose at all. Believe me I was not doing that with myself at all either. The brain is a VERY scary and powerful thing. You'd be surprised what it can do to your physical being when you start believing certain things.

Quit making yourself crazy over this. If all these tests have came up negative, you are not pregnant. You might be having the same symptoms as you did when you have been pregnant before because you are so worried about it. Worrying and stress can cause nausea and alot of the same symptoms as when you are pregnant. You could also be having the same symptoms because you really think you are pregnant so your mind has taken over your body. Calm down and everything will settle down. If you keep this type of stuff in your head, you will naturally stay sick and have the same symptoms because you are so convinced that everyone is wrong. Just give it a little time and chill out for now. Do something that you enjoy to get your mind off of all this stuff. Blood tests don't lie period.

I don't think you are crazy at all but believe me a woman can have what is called a false pregnancy and think for sure she must be pregnant-morning sickness and all! I have had it happen to me. After having your tubes tied does not mean that the desire to have children has left you. It may be only in your subconscious mind -but it is still there! Don't let it upset you! If you should get pregnant by chance then you will know it in a few months!

i to had my tubes tied 13 years ago. but to this day i from time to time have symptoms of being pregnant. and no its not your imagination these are true symptoms. but to be honest with you its hormones. the chances of you being pregnant are very very slim. so, let this go. and stop worrying or wishing. and more than likely in a few days you will have your period. but if you don't lets say by next month, have another test done and if it still says neg. there could be something else going on that you should talk to you doctor about.

Well, it's possible but really unlikely that you got pregnant with your tubes tied. And since you've had the tests, I'd say no. I understand that feeling of being pregnant. Go to your OBGYN and talk to him/her. Try to relax. The fact that you're freaking out may be what's causing you to have the symptoms in the first place.

Your tubes are ties AND your blood test was negative.. you are NOT pregnant.
Now something could be wrong because of your body being out of wack but its not pregnancy.

I would bank on the fact, with the blood work being the absolute tell all that you are not pregnant. I would however call your ob/gyn and discuss what you're going thru. Depending on your age you could be pre-menopause.
Don't worry you're gonna be fine :)

Time will tell...I think you are a bit stressed though. Try not to get so wound up about it. Do you want to be pregnant again? Are you ready for this? Only you know.
