Electrolysis is a procedure used with a machine that attacks the root of the hair. It is more expensive than waxing and it will take about 4 or 5 treatments to remove hair permanently, although some hair may grow back.

Waxing is less expensive. It will cost you around $10 or $15 dollars. It costs me $20 but this includes waxing of my eyebrows as well.

I suggest waxing, it is less expensive and you can do it once a month at least for the moustache removal.

You can also just use the Sally Hansen hair remover for your face. It's kind of like nair, but lots gentler.

It's about $8 for a kit that you can use 8-10 times. Takes about 5 minutes.

You can also just buy hot wax that you heat in the microwave and do yourself. If you do this, wax the center strip down the middle of your lip first, then each side. (It's easier and less painful to grab the end of the wax in an area that's hair free.)

Waxing can get expensive. One of my best friends always got her upper lipped waxed at a salon when she could've done it herself at home for next to nothing. You can buy wax strips from the drugstore, I believe Sally Hansen has a whole line of wax products. I'm not sure about electrolysis...you might want to look into laser hair removal instead. I'm not sure how much it costs, though. HTH!

Electroysis is technically a medical procedure. You can wax at home, or lighten, or use a chemical hair remover. The chemical hair remover is likely to cause irritation. The lightener's need to be redone a lot. I'd suggest getting a home waxing kit. They also sell strips that are specifically meant to be used for the face. You just wet them, place them on the area you need to remove hair, let it dry, and pull.

Just never, ever, ever try shaving it.

a wax is going to cost you about 10-15 bucks, depending on where you live. it should last for about six weeks. if you decide to go for electolysys, it is very expensive..they zap the hair with electrical pulses to kill the follicle, it will take several treatments, but be a permenant solution. those treatments will run in the humdreds.
