If it was your accident, then have you considered your insurance. Even though it is not your car your insurance may cover it. If not then her insurance. (If neither of you had insurance then you shouldnt have touched the car). You pay for the premium on her insurance. It is propably cheaper than paying for all repairs. And yes even though you are not a covered driver her insurance should cover you as a temporary driver.
However if she just had liability consider this. See if you have any pictures of the car before your accident, family photos etc. that shows the previous damage. Ask for a copy of the police report, they typically have specific details about exactly what was damaged in the accident, and sometimes have photos also. It may be apparent that there was older damage to the vehicle on top of the damaged that you produced, or if your damages were on a different part of the car than that of the accident this may be obvious also. If this information is correct then talk to her first and explain these obvious facts!!!
If she does take you to court it will be small claims court, and barring any major inconsistencies it will be your responsibility. If you cant find the proof, you need to pay up. Sorry.

If you were driving the car and you caused the accident you are responsible.

first of course you report the accident to the insurance company. They would pay for the repair of the car minus any deductable

But if you were driving the car, she can make you pay for the damage if you caused it.

Its her car. She can do what she wants to do. You have to give her the cash if that's what she wants, but only the amount that it would take to fix the car.

You need to have a heart-to-heart chat with your aunt so that you can, perhaps, settle this out of court.
