Sometimes I get a flash of what may or may not happen to me. It has been happening more, now than before. Honestly, it is starting to freak me out. I keep "seeing" myself in a car accident and not making it. Could I just be scaring myself? Is this possible?

Well, everyone's beliefs are different but personally I reckon it is possible to get a glimpse of the future..Sometimes even whole pages.... Absolutely.

You know, in this case I think this situation could be one of a few things:
1) your subconcious(for want of a word, perhaps) is trying to tell you something, for example it's worried about something and wants you to face it. It could be nothing to do with car accidents, it's just a symbol or gives you a similar (fear) response that your mind wants you to notice or relieve. The subconcious isn't good at words, it usually works through symbols. Sometimes it gives up using convoluted symbols and tries to 'hit you over the head' with a loud message.

Maybe you're scared of dying or scared of dying without having done certain things (who isn't!) These sort of premonitions are fairly common!
Maybe it's something completely unrelated, like studying, choosing a career path, facing up to past issues, parenthood issues etc etc etc

Sometimes these things are your mind's way of relieving stress or letting off steam..

2) It depends on your own beliefs but maybe you shouldn't discount the possibility that there's something else in this? Maybe we get messages if we're open to them? Not that I believe they are always literal - I think you can experience these flashes about someone else so you can empathise with their situation. Maybe it's not anyone you even know. I've had heaps of these 'flashes' of car accidents etc in dreams about myself and other people in my family and touch wood, nothing has happened so far. I take them as warnings to enjoy life as much as possible and to be good to people around me and appreciate them. Sort of like the nightmares you can get before an exam when you dream you didn't study. You wake up and want to 'hit the books'.

I'm not saying this is necessarily a real, literal psychic glimpse of the future, but that whatever it is you should listen to your gut- follow your intuition and trust it. Maybe it's not about dying in a car crash but avoiding a certain road trip which leads you to meet someone or do something amazing... I think there's more going on in the world than is obvious at first glance!

Even if we assume for a second that your worst fear was to come true (not saying this is a probability, but let's face the fear for a second). Even on the offchance it was literal, use this information! What if you were seeing your own future? Why would you be told about unless it was to help you in some way? You're being told something for a reason. If it's about a certain car or place, for example, then avoid that car or place if you feel better that way. Maybe you'll have a decision to make soon that's important. I'm sure we've all had experiences where we've ignored our intuition and things have gone wrong! Listen to your gut and do what is right for you. Don't be scared of this. Think of it as someone caring enough about you to try and tell you something important. There are lots of possibilities about what this could be. If you're too scared you may miss the message and chances are the 'flashes' will continue.

3) Your imagination is running away with you and is enjoying the ride :). I can relate to this one! Maybe you are just a creative person with a great internal life which is something to be grateful for in most ways.. Beats being really dull I think... In any case nothing to worry about.

Whatever it is, try to not be scared but look at reasons why this might be happening. If it was a message what it is saying? Is there something you need to accept, acknowledge, change, appreciate etc etc? It sounds like there is something you (quite understandably) don't want to face and may not be as literal as it seems - it may not have anything to do with not making it or car accidents.

Take care, hope this helps.

So vacationing to Cebu fom Manila would be shorter-at 7,000 mph you will attain holiday spot in approximately 3 minutes. Assuming there is not any hurricane needless to say. Cheers.

Anything is possible...but...I have had the same thought several times & it always disturbes me. However that has never happened & if it does (which I doubt) it may be years in the future. Also, over 20 years ago, I had the feeling one time that my house was going to burn down...even packed my most prized posessions in the trunk of my car. The house has not burned down yet...that I know about...I don't live there anymore.

On the other hand...I once 'felt' that I was going to have cancer...scared me to death (no pun intended). Never happened...I forgot about it...Until ten years later, I was diagnosed with breast cancer...I am now a cancer survivor of 17 years.

One time when I was teaching...I kept 'feeling' like I was going to leave teaching. Couldn't figure out why I would be leaving...even told the other teachers I kept feeling like I would be leaving...One of them replied "Finish teaching my child before you leave." I never did finish teaching her child as I got sick & left under those circumstances. I have never taught since.

Yes, I do sometimes see things that are going to happen or might happen in the future. The trick is to discern which will happen & which will not. That can be very tricky. Right now I have the gut level feeling that something is going to happen in my life...something good. I am now waiting to see if that is going to come to fruition...actually there are two things...both good. I can only wait. I can not make it happen...or for that matter make it not happen.

As for you & your impending death in an automobile accident, I would say that it is probably not going to happen. As in teaching, I left but not the way I was imagining I would. As for the cancer ten years later, I did not die as I was so afraid I would. I have been in a car accident, but one so minor as to call it a 'fender bender'...only the car had a few scrapes & bruises. You may be 'seeing' what will happen but not in the form or with the results you are afraid of. Rarely I think, are we shown how we will die & when.& especially if it is violent...

Do not freak out...someone above made the suggestion that you might want to talk to a psychiatrist...That is a good suggestion & is what I personally do. He is excellent in his field (important) & has never made me feel weird or stupid. Sometimes we are simply more sensitive than others or have been given a supernatural gift to be used for the good of others or self. As I said...Do not freak out...Discern what is true & what is not,,,& walk peacefully on your way.

One other example & then I will shut up...When I was visiting up north once for the first time & being from the South, I was delighted at the thought of seeing snow. When I arrived (Nov. 30th) I was so disappointed there was no snow. However a couple of days later, it began to snow...& snow...& snow until the snow was piled up to the window sills. I awoke one morning & saw the word 'fuel' right before my eyes. Immediately I thought "Oh, Oh, the Lord is trying to get me to spend some of my money' (of which I had precious little). My next thoughts were I could keep my money & freeze to death or I could spend it and stay warm. I decided to check it out, going down to the basement to see the fuel gauge. It registered 'empty' & I had my answer...I would spend my money for fuel....That was the 1st time I had seen a word written out but intuitively I knew where it came from & what to do. End of story.

That is an example of something apparently bad...no fuel in sub zero weather...being used for something good. Perhaps my friends had too much pride to tell me (foolish) or perhaps I would have thought they were trying to get money from me to keep their money(also foolish). As it was, I knew the truth w/o them saying a word & I could handle it in a way as 'to save face'.

Don't freak...'accentuate the possitive, eliminate the negative' & may God bless you in your search of the truth of what is happening. Much love, Nala

You're just scaring yourself. It's not possible to see your own future unless you make it happen.

If you don't believe me, then have a friend shoot you or push you off a cliff or something. That will prove right there that the car accident thing was bs.

You are just freaking yourself out. The funny thing is you won't be able to appreciate the irony until you're walking down the street one day with an icecream cone in your hand and a piano falls on your head.

There are all kinds of things that science can't explain. I think we've all had dreams and then have part of them come true. I guess anything is possible, but you probably don't have anything to worry about. But why don't you make sure you fasten that seatbelt, just in case?

to be honest ive had dreams, thoughts or whatever u want to call them of things or places ive never been.& then later they come true,& i remember that ive been there.& i remember i was there in my earlier premonition(dream).its weird.but ive never had one of impending disaster though.

u might try to find some professionals on this subject, like physics or something,i dont know if it will come true or not.
one question,do u keep having the same exact accident dream??
everything looks the same, same car, same scene etc?
if so,i really dont know what to suggest, maybe someone else has ideas?? :o

It sounds like an anxiety disorder, possibly OCD (obsessive compulsive disorder). Possibly increased stress in your life now could be causing this to happen more. Talk with your doctor, you do not have to live in fear.
