No, one if born with as many brain cells as they well ever have. Alcohol kills brain cells, as well as many other medications. The good news is experts, neurologist report that we only use approximately 10% of our brains. Therefore one has the option of using some of that 90% we don't use. Hope this helps.

Unfortunately brain cells cannot reproduce, but it is my understanding that the brain will compensate for lost cells in other ways. It somehow fills in the gaps.
Your brain is a very fragile piece of work. I would maybe start looking for new friends before premenate damage is done.

There is speculation that antidepressant medication know as SSRI's (selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors) stimulate growth of new brain cells. It's been proven in lab rats, but not humans yet.
