How come everytime I mention why I believe in God, atheists come out with this don't cram your religion down my throat BS? Thats such a cop out. First off all its a free country, you don't like, leave or go somewhere it wont bother you. Just because you have insecurities about religion and God or the fact you have too much pride to, doesn't mean I cant express my faith. Again its a free country and you are allowed to tell me why Im a moron.

However one more question? You people are so much more intelligent and enlightened than my blind ignorant faith, yet tell me from a scientific analysis how has anything in this existence ever come from nothing? You claim no God yet in physics everything has a cause and effect, along with no infinite values existing in this universe, so explain to me how I evolved from nothing?

your Q unfairly groups all atheists together ...the same way some atheists Q groups all Christians together... I believe this is where the problem lies- on both sides.

can't we all just get along and agree to disagree? some of the behavior on Q&A is so immature that intelligent meaning gets lost in the mean and hateful words some people put forth. I enjoy debating, but in this forum good debate is almost nonexistent.
Everyone needs to be more respectful and tolerant of others' opinions.

This is one thing that most over religous people never get - that the act of forcing your religious beliefs on another person is an act of extreme violence.

If the person asks you what your religion is, then fine, tell them. Otherwise, dont. They don't want to know or could care less.

As for evolution - if you are a Christian you should READ the Bible and not rely upon what you are told. If you actually read it, you will find out that the Bible specifically states that all life came into being through the process of evolution and that is the method that God uses to create new and unusual life forms throughout the Universe.

Science only bears out what is written in the Bible. Most people also miss the references to God's Time, Angel's Time and Man's Time. They also miss the fact that the "7 days of creation" only start AFTER the entire universe and the solar system is already created. They miss the fact that the "7 days" is God's Time, and never do the math to convert God's Time to Man's Time. If they did, they would see that "7 days" of God's Time is billions of years in Man's Time - and the age of the Earth matches what science tells us.

Anyways, for the answer about what to do, read the religous texts that are out there - only Man's words say to impose yourself on others - God's words and the words of holy people and prophets and angels and saints and whatnot all say to respect everyone else's religion and to keep your faith to yourself as a secret between only you and God.

I guess its a stereotype that non believers think that your gonna cram it down their throats, Some people ruin it for everyone else I guess. Some people think that just because you are christian your gonna be all in their faces but thats not always that case. And Athiests don't believe that we evolved from nothing....here is a quote that I like to think of when people think that Evolution doesn't exist and that there has to be a God or Creator
" Any Creative intelligence,of sufficient complexity to design anything, comes into existence only as the end product of an extended process of gradual evolution." Creative intelligences, being evolved, necessarily arrive late in the universe, and therefore cannot be responsible for designing it.

Are you trying to preach to me? Then yes, I will tell you that if you want to discuss your religion we will do so in a manner that's a debate, not a blantant attempt to get me to believe. In a way where both sides are heard and we should know what the other believes in and be better for it.

The one arguement for denying God exists is that things cannot come from nothing, but where did God come from? If he is real, then he had to come from nothing which contridicts that rule.

Then again, your last question is asked in a such a manner that it will and must start a debate, which is something in the first part you pretty much said you don't want to do. You don't want them coming in here telling you off and saying something that says your religion is false, but in order to answer that last question they have to. So, I won't. There are plenty of places out there that describe it in full.

Please learn them. You can't be one sided on an arguement. Religion has evolved into an arguement.

Just a few points in response to your rambling rant
1. We are not all neccesarilly atheist but prefer to keep an open mind and don't like being condemned for it.

2. Science doesn't say there is or is not a God. Science only deals with what is observable, verifiable and repeatable.

3.We did not evolve from nothing we started out as simple molecules and over billions of years evolved into more complex forms .

Well done! I'm curious to see if anyone can actually answer your question and not make a side remark.

Nothing comes from nothing. If the universe was caused by a big bang, then what caused the big bang?

The Kalam Cosmological Argument:

(1) Everything that has a beginning of its existence has a cause of its existence.
(2) The universe has a beginning of its existence.
Therefore:
(3) The universe has a cause of its existence.
(4) If the universe has a cause of its existence then that cause is God.
Therefore:
(5) God exists.

Just Added: God is eternal. He doesn't have a beginning or an end. If He had a beginning (with a cause), then He wouldn't be God now would He?

Christians DO try to force their religions on other people. That is why they are lobbying for things like a constitutional ban on gay marriage, forced prayer in schools, biblical commandments in public places, the overturning of current abortion laws etc. ALL of these things are based on religious beliefs and they all affect people other than christians. So in essence, because you believe one way about these things, you are trying to tell us that we have to believe also.
Letting gay people marry won't affect most Christians at all, so why oppose it? No one says that kids can't pray quietly to themselves in school if they want to; all we want is not to have it be mandatory. So what's the big deal? Not all of the biblical commandments are against the current law, so they should have no place in deciding current criminal cases, particularly for those who don't even follow that religion. So why should the appearance of bias (judges will base their decisions on religion) even be permitted? If Christians don't like abortions, they don't have to have one. But for some people, there just aren't any other options. What right do you as a Christian have to try to legislate something that doesn't even concern you (since you will never have one)?
Finally, if you don't like it, why don't you leave and go somewhere else? Go found your own country and leave the rest of us to muddle along without your interference.

Your question (and tirade) comes across as if you've been attacked personally. "We" not wanting religious views crammed down our throats means... no legislating how we are to conduct our lives. You believe what you choose to believe, and we will do the same. You conduct yourself the way you choose to conduct yourself, and we will do the same. However, we will not stand by and allow religious beliefs to become the law of the land. We don not now, nor will we ever, live in a Theocracy..

why are 'you people' always so defensive? treat people as you would be treated. hello, pot? YES! this is the kettle! hahahaha. some christians can discuss questions about religion (i love the assumption that atheists have 'insecurities' and 'too much pride') and some become aggressive and angry.

i have no problem with faith. it has helped many people and given many others things to hope for or ways to live their lives. but, belligerent faith is something else.

You know, dear, you should drop this disagreement with atheists. They're not going to change for you or anyone else unless they have a personal experience from a loving God. You're putting far too much anger and frustration into the argument that will never be solved. Just love them and go about your business. What do you care what they think? God don't make junk, you know. Godloveya, honey!
