The difference between a dual 2 ohm and a dual 4 ohm is the wiring capabilities. There are some small parameter differences, but the main one is wiring. With two 2ohmDVC subs you can wire them at 2 ohms or 0.5 ohms - with this a mono amp is the way to go since it'll be stable at 2 ohms. Now with two 4ohmDVC you can wire them at 4ohms or 1 ohm - at 4 ohms a good two channel will work (bridged) at 1 ohm you'll need a mono amp stable to 1 ohm. In my opinion your best bet for 2 would be to go with the Dual 2 Ohm model and a mono amp.

Get 2 ohm SVC or 4 ohm DVC, it's easier to match to am amp. Wire them in series to the amp.
Like so for SVC:

This results in 4 ohms total if each sub is 2 ohms.
Like so for DVC:

This results in 4 ohms total if each sub is 4 ohms.
Make sure the amp puts out twice the watts RMS as one of those subs.

bl_arias is a little confused,
The difference between a dual 2 ohm and a dual 4 ohm is the wiring capabilities. There are some small parameter differences, but the main one is wiring. With two 2 ohm DVC subs you can wire them at 4 ohms or 1 ohms each. Now with two 4 ohm DVC you can wire them at 8 ohms or 2 ohm each.
Depending on how you wire these configurations of one sub to another sub with the same configuration, will give you the results bl_arias stated.

main difference is a 2ohm dvc sub will only connect to a mono channel amp in 1ohm or 4ohm mode. And a 4ohm dvc sub will only connect to a mono channel amp in 2ohm or 8ohm.

if you have or get a 2 channal amp get the 2ohm and DON'T bridge the amp it will fry it but if you have a mono amp that is stable in 1ohm load you can get ether if you want it dependes on the way you wire it.
