Theres a couple links here. Children can learn to swim, and save their own lives, from birth. Water is natural to infants.
Three years is certainly not to young.

somewhat my 2 sons began on the age of 9 and 11 at the same time as my daughter began on the age of 10. i began so previous due for my children becuase i will not locate an outstanding instructor in the start. i imagine the perfect age for children to initiate swimming is age 7. there is the award medal wherein if the youngsters too youthful, they could no longer be allowed to take.

3 is a great age to begin swimming lessons! there are great classes for every age level. at this age, a parent will be required to be with the child at all times. this will be fun , and good for your children!

I started swimming classes with my baby that I nanny for when she was 5 months. They say they should be 6 months, but if you're baby's ready a little younger they'll usually let it slide.

3 is not too young. I started my twins at 2 and now at four, they dive and swim in the "deep end"
