i mean, if i were to, for example, see people arguing in the food section on how to make pasta and i hated pasta, i'd tell them to "get over and be done with it, pasta sux". i wouldnt tell them "pasta doesnt taste good no matter how u prepare it" and keep presenting them the idea of buying insurance as an alternative.
similarly, you guys should stop asking questions with the intention of making fun, like this http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AuErieNbA_fM8yXYDGrJlWvsy6IX?qid=20061020205559AAF0rfF , this http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=ArveoXpoLYOVmk7qFjhcJvnsy6IX?qid=20061020202605AAQFrKc or this http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AoaiW1Johsupz9TWcy6Qenfsy6IX?qid=20061020205030AAl8dGv . but if u ask questions with the true intention to learn, like this http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AsF0F8kYWleqfkto7pzMlwrsy6IX?qid=20061017095244AAXboZA and you'll be less hated and more than welcome by anyone else in this section!
question, do u agree?

for those who're not too bright to see my point, heres the analogy.
1) "pasta isnt good, buy insurance instead"
2) "God isnt true, try evolution instead"

1) okok you love insurance, but i love to talk about food here. why are u talking bad about my favourite food? can u just leave it alone if u're not here to learn about food?

2) do i reali have to go on with this explanation? sheesh.

Danielle, christians are human and sin too. we feel hatred and anger too, we're not God. the thing is, we dont carry it till sunset, if u read the Bible you'll understand what i mean.

Would it please u if i told u tat all christians dont get angry? no, u'll then blame me for lying.

Danielle is just another example of how those unbelievers will sterotype christians "they cannot feel hatred nor anger, all sinners go to hell, etc". oh come on give me a break.

Maybe they are subconsciously seeking Him. We can only pray they find Him...

You'd have to get a different answer from every person. Here's mine.

This section isn't about God, it's about spirituality and religion. Where does it say that it's specifically about God and Christian religions? It doesn't.

I am very spiritual, and I am also very informed on many different types of religions. Most people who decide that are not suited for a religion researches so they know what they are not suited for. I did that, I also did that because find the need for a God and a higher being interesting in human culture. Therefore I am equipped to answer a question honestly, and with factual information from other people who do believe in it. And, since I also can see the sides to both arguements when it does come to religion I can say: "Well it may be because of..."

Also, your point doesn't count. Saying pasta sucks in the food section doesn't add to the arguement, therefore you're pretty much doing what you hate here anyway. There will be uneducated people everywhere, if you can't filter that out from the real stuff, then you probably shouldn't be here anyway.

As far as I'm concerned, those questions are all legitimate. They are what is on the mind of the Asker, and they have here a community of people with all kinds of beliefs, and so they may learn something.

Some of the questions I've seen here really are rude or inappropriate, but those you sited I view as completely legitimate.

A non-believer has every right to be here and ask questions about religion. Non-believers are often very fascinated by religion. As nonbelievers, they marvel how anyone could believe in what, to them, seems so obviously false. So it is a source of fascination for them, and I see that as ok. Most of the people here really do seek to know what everyone thinks, to get a broader perspective on the issue.

We are active because we have a vested interest in what religious people do. Religious people (esp. American Christians) are very much in favor of forcing their beliefs on other people (hence lobbying to have gay marriage banned, abortion rights overturned etc). In order to protect ourselves, we come to places like this to get an idea of what religious people are thinking and doing. We also come here because we enjoy discussing and presenting our ideas on religion just as much as anyone else. You think the world would be a better place if we were all christians; well, I think it would be a better place if we were all atheists.
I'd like to know why you assume that the questions you mentioned were all to make fun of christianity. The question about in vitro fertilization seemed like a serious, thought provoking question to me, whereas the one you like seemed rather provocative. Maybe these people just have something to say or are seeking ideas. Try to be a little more open minded--and if you don't like the looks of a post don't bother with it.

Many ironic poeple ask these question because of their lack of knowledge on the subject. They know about God and that he's the almighty and Holy one but they don't know that they're insulting many followers of God.

I've seen a lot of question asking if God's power is real or if he's just an imaginative character made up. They don't realize that my fellow catholics and I are being insulted, embarassed and hurt by all the ignorant question being asked and what hurts more is the answers many non-religious are putting, pretending they know our religion very well.

Hatred is not the right answer though you have a point and I do agree on your post.

LOL, I love the way you make a Q.

We all have to remember that deep down many unbelievers hate God. Christians are the manifestation of the very thing they hate in life and they are a real life target, if not physically, then in places like this.

Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked or stand in the way of sinners or sit in the seat of mockers. -Psalm 1:1

I couldn't agree more! I've often wished that they would all get their own site and they could just pour out all their hate for Christians and God on it and not clutter up this site!! But then I guess maybe when they do it here someone might give them that one answer that would open them up to recieve God. I do find it is really annoying becouse I don't come on here and attack those that don't believe forcing my beliefs on them, not until they attack my beliefs first. I wished all Christians would unite on here and refuse to open to any of them and they would see they are wasting their time attacking us! I do agree tho that those who really do want to know something even if in an attacking mode are welcomed.

No, I don't agree at all. The title of this category is Religion & Spirituality. The title is not "Believers in Religion & Spirituality". This category is for everyone who has opinions on the subject of religion and spirituality.

"You would be less hated" is a fine comment for a Christian to make, by the way.
