You could get both of them a gift card or the 9 yr old a model car & the 18 yr old if he has a car a gas gift card or something for his car. You could get them a card & put money in it. Start them a savings account. Good Luck.

I would say gift certificates for them both. Lots of times kids at both these ages get clothes and just hate them as they are not what they would have selected. So with a gift certificate it's like receiving cash and they can purchase what they want.

The nine year old can have some sort of computer game, or a gift card to blockbuster, the 18 year old can have the same, he can pick out his own music cd or dvd movie ! NEVER FAILS !

what do they like?? if you don't know money of mall gift certificate let them buy what they want... and photo copy the b-day card and give them the photocopy take the original back for a refund....
