I don't think so. I do hold religious convictions (yes, I know I normally classify myself as atheist here, but that's not quite right and it would take a lot to explain otherwise) which I arrived at in an intellectual manner. I'm not terribly emotional, actually, but I can certainly hang onto my beliefs when necessary.

Jibba JAbba is that why you think you are not spiritual, I think that is the question that no one can answer for you. Perhaps I could be wrong in saying so, but yes I do believe that not being desensitized and jaded by the world is the key to understanding who you are, and the higher being of oneself with god. Some learn this through science, others from adversity, and a rebellious nature. But in order for them to adapt a belief system it
provoked some sort of emotional response, otherwise they would not have accepted it as theirs. You are very much against the principles of Christianity, perhaps because you see them as hypocrites, or that the nature of the bible is contradictive. Ask yourself does that not stir an emotional response in you. I would say yes, because I can see it, and feel it in the way you passionately speak out against something you feel is wrong, and judgemental. So would it go without saying, through this you have built a belief system. Now ask yourself do you speak out because it holds truth for you. Or is it because you are afraid that your truth may be wrong, and become weakened?
I hold no religious belief, just a spiritual one, that cannot be challenged by another, because I accept all.
As always I wish you well

I don't think so. I don't believe in the supernatural at all, but I am a very emotional person. On the other hand, many people in my family are not very emotional but are fanatically religious. I think it is just all about the individual.

No not at all. We see emotional people on COPS every night. Are they believers?
God created many of us to have emotion to be able to identify and help others. God also created people with a certain emotional detachment to be able to better focus and channel their abilties and think straight during emergencies.

It's probably more a function of confidence than emotion. People tend to lean more on faith, when they lack the substance to take charge of and responsibility for their own lives.

They certainly can be, but who are we to judge? I think they can be very dramatic at times.
