These answers are hysterical! Rinse it off, season it again, and cook it. Make sure you clean the floor where the steak dropped! Yes Rand a, I have heard what happens in restaurants that we don't see.

First tell the dog NO! GET BACK! Then pick it up wash it off season it, keep an eye on it and know which one it is and when it's time for dinner either fed it to your Sister, Brother or In-Law, which ever applies. Where it landed on the floor? the dog will take care of that for ya

wash it well! as long as you get all the "trash" off it, anything you pick up off the floor, as germs and stuff, will be killed during the cooking process. be sure to cook it on high heat for a lil while.
Some people would just throw it away, but this is an option to wasting a good piece of meat.

Pick it up quick before the dog gets it, then rinse it off real well under running water, then blot dry with a clean towel or cloth. It'll be fine.

rinse it off, and wash the floor, and serve it anyway. I worked in a fancy expensive restaraunt, and you wouldnt believe the things they did back there. I rarely eat out anymore, but sometimes you just have to say to heck with it and go for it, its not like its gonna kill you, probaby.

Thoroughly rinse it in plain, cold water (NO soap or detergent!). Pat it dry with paper towels or a clean, white towel. Resume the steps for cooking it (e.g marinate, rub with herbs, trim fat) then cook it.

rinse it off. it probably fell in a clean spot. of course there is the 10 second rule. but usually the cooking process will take care of anything you cant rinse off.

uh, as long as it didn't fall in any fecal matter or urine, I would wash it real good with hot water in the sink, and even rub some salt into it. Of course, i mop my floors every morning, so they're fairly clean to begin with.
