No, Halloween is not offensive to anyone. It's a fun day for the children and for kids that never grew up. I see nothing wrong with it. There is nothing evil about it either. Yes, it started out as a Celtic Pagan festival, but this has been Christianized now as the night before All Saints Day (All Hallows Eve = The Eve of All Holies). Long may Halloween continue and prosper. It's the one time of the year when we acknowledge the dark side of ourselves.

No of course not. Halloween, or Samhain (older name) signifies the end of the Pagan year. The time when growing is done and the earth lies fallow for winter, allowing it to recover from the growth period (Spring & Summer). Technically it is the Pagan New year. It has nothing to do with Devil worship, as the Pagan religions have no concept of the Devil which is a patriarchal religious concept. If we were to ban Halloween then we would also have to ban all other religious holidays including Christmas!

No defiantly not, the tradition and rituals of Halloween actually go back long before Christianity. Halloween night is a vibrant festival celebrated throughout the Western world, we dress up in colourful Halloween costumes (anything from witches and skeletons to ghouls!), buy loads of scary stuff and have theme parties. If we're lucky it also brings us closer to our historic roots and perhaps even gives us a scary little shiver at the same time.
Muslims have their festivities too for which they celebrate, that is their religion which other people do not find offensive so why should we give up all our christian roots to please others they would certainly never give up theirs.

Halloween is a religous celebration so why judge it to be any different than that of any other religous celebration..
...we would have to ban every single 'symbolic celebration'....to make others happy? Happiness is within, not without and I doubt it would be at all successful....it's part of history too!
...what other people think is none of our business...
No Halloween should not be banned for religous reasons!!!! I am not burning my stuffed witches and pumpkins it's 2006!!!!

Halloween should not be banned because of a few religious fanatics with narrow minds. I am not speaking of Muslims.

I heard you're additionally no longer allowed to declare the words "Apollo 11" the two in view which you will possibly be able to offend the idiots who think of we never landed on the moon. additionally, i detect it humorous that Halloween is offensive by way of fact of its pagan roots (that have not got any genuine foundation anymore), whilst Christmas and Easter are in simple terms as pagan in beginning place. THe Christians in simple terms co-opted the fairs for the iciness and spring solstice with the intention to transform pagans extra surely.

No Way! Halloween is the greatest holiday ever! This is America-most of us celebrate Halloween those who don't like it can find something else to do. We find other things to do during their holidays that they don't celebrate and they should do the same.
