No. Getting drunk once and a while (say 2 or less per month) does not make you a drunk. The question is how many days do you go without having a drink? Do you drink everyday? Then you could be bordering alcoholism.

Huh? Being an alcoholic means being addicted to alcohol. Getting drunk is entirely different. Who's taking the higher moral ground? If they are, then they're just insecure people who have to compensate for their own shortcomings by condeming others. It's human nature.

Most people consider alcoholics people who drink and get drunk EVERYDAY. if you drink just on weekends, or just once in a while, your not really an alcoholic. An alcoholic is someone who is addicted to alcohol, and getting drunk occasionally doesn't mean your addicted to it.

It isn't taking the high moral ground, it IS however admitting they have a problem, and doing something about it, instead of finding excuses to keep drinking and having the same excuse to drink everytime...my childhood, my husband, my wife, my kids, my job, blah, blah, blah...
