I personally dont believe in God but respect others beliefs.

Whats your view on the whole God thing, & how do you think he came to be? Was there anything before God?

(i mean no disrespect to hardened followers)

I agree wholeheartedly with Oolan Caloophid. Having just completed his masterpieces: "God's Greatest Mistakes" and "Some More of God's Greatest Mistakes." I also have to ask, Who is this God person, anyway?

Bravo, mate! Cheers.

Consider God as a concept, an ideal person, a coping mechanism. Do not expect answers, do not use the dirty words `proof`, or `science`. There was always "something before God", as "something" existed aeon's before God was created. `He` was of course created in part to answer the question you have posed. Gods, supernatural beings, spirits , all have been created by man to make sense of existence and the human condition . This prospect was troubling to man, and remains so. It was just a matter of time until a support system was produced in book form. All the answers - none of that awkward `thinking` or `science `stuff !!

There is one God in three persons. There is the Father, Spirit, Son. God created time so he exist out of it. He is the past present future. All three beings of God were always there.

How do I think he came to be?.... Think of an ant he goes on a apple and tells the other ants woah! this is some good eating and has no idea how it got there or where its from. Our knowledge surpasses ones of an ant, we know its and apple. Same is true with God He knows everything and there will be a simple answer someday.

Also I really respect your respect for religion it's truly too bad not all unbelievers aren't like you.

I agree with jules and maguyver7, God is my savior, comfort and not only do I believe in him but there are times I believe only he believes in me! I just recently lost my job that it took 6 months to find for a reason I still don't understand and yet I know that if God was not in my life now I would probably be having some kind of breakdown! From the Sermon on the Mount Jesus said"blessed are those who believe and have not seen'" meaning it's all in your faith, but really all you have to do is look at the natural wonders in the world and you will see God...and no I don't think there was anything "before" him...if there was a before him

I believe that God is the Creator of the Universe: the heavens and the earth, the All Powerful and Almighty, God above all other gods. He loves us all with an unconditional love and makes it possible for us to know Him personally through His son Jesus Christ. He sent Jesus to the cross so that all who know and choose to follow Him, will have everlasting life, in heaven with Him.
I also believe there to be a certain amount of mystery about God. Because He has always been, (ie never created) then we cannot possibly know everything about Him and His ways. However, I believe the Bible is the ultimate authority on who God is and on His character and the way in which He relates to us - and wants us to relate to Him through Christ.
To me personally, God is my everything. Whilst I have a great family, fulfillling job, reasonable standard of living etc, I still know that without a relationship with Christ, my life would be sadly lacking. It is through Him that I truly can say 'I'm alive'!

God does, did and will always exist.U can't just get the flow of god within urself coz u r too consumed with logic and scientific reason to determine the dynamics that work behind the existence of god.Unless u urself find a reason to just simply believe without attributing any reason whatsoever to it,u will soon realize and start trusting the voice within-the voice of ur soul.Look beneath the bagful of perceptions, feelings and experiences that have formed ur "heart" and shaped ur personality.Do u think all that u think, feel or understand is enough to prove the existence of something so infinite, hidden and yet powerful?

As a Christian God is our Creator and our way to Heaven. He is a God of love and created us to be loved by Him and for us to love Him. If you haven't been loved in life it is a hard concept but also a way to know love. We aren't told much about what went on before creation but God, the Son, and the Holy Spirit existed. God is in the Spiritual realm so it's hard to grasp sometimes but if you have faith and believe you can feel and know these things in your heart and mind. I do hope you will change your mind because your whole life will change and have meaning!

somthing created by the human mind to make us feel like somthing is watching us and protecting us.

god is supposly a being, with infinit power inteligence, he has no measurable size, doesnt live in any physical realm or location...

a being like that it think can only exist and be materialized in one place, and thats the HUMAN MIND.

god is just as fictional as santa and hes working elves or whatever.

and somthing else. god has no origin? hows that POSSIBLE in any way? wtf is he doing there? no no it just makes no sense. god in nature is WRONG! also to say that there is no physical evidence of his existence except for a book that lol, is full of fantasy bullshit. i meen is like watching lord of the rings and believing there are really dragons and dark princes somwhere...

i thought of all this real hard and nothing seems to make god possible...

god loves everyone? not everyone has the chance to be like the commentor right up top of me. u think bums feel like he does, if there was a god y didnt he wave his magic wand and make it all better

if god existed and loves us all, y does he let such horrible things take place such as murder rape, Holocaust Slavery of a race and of cource Wars!!!

wtf???

i live a good life without god so i dont know why i would accept him anyway.

...

Everyone here seems to presume that God is male, a Him. Why? I wonder how a mere male could organise the evolution of wondrous things like diamonds and pearls, dragonflies and sea horses, Wollemi pines and conker trees, Jesse Owens and Adolf Hitler, an ASBO and a Nobel Prize, grilled barramundi and jellied eels... and organise things to bring it all to glorious fruition for us right now right here on earth. Men organise wars and the losing of them, criminality of many kinds, time-wasting pursuits like watching sport (esp snooker, bullfights and clay pigeon shooting), money grubbing and grabbing, miscellaneous male feelgood factors (many disreputable) etc. Time to hand the reins over to women. And let's have a Her from now on. Maybe before Her she had a Mother too, why not, and a Her before Her... can't be proven of course, exactly like the claims of the globe's umpteen "true" religions. Happy hunting, That bloke.

God has given us the meaning of eternal through our universe. Otherwise we would never be able to conceive such a thing. So when God says He is the beginning and the end. and He is eternal that's exactly what he means. See we humans can only perceive something with a beginning and a end our minds are incapable of understanding.
