OK - take a deep breath. This simple truth of the matter is that it happens on both sides of the fence. I could easily take offence to what you have said about us atheists (I'm one myself), but I can understand where you are coming from.
I've been just as livid at the religious zealots (which by the way I know DOESN'T describe a true Christian) who flame the boards under just about any subject, even where someone has specifically asked for non-religious input. I also learnt that lashing out just brings you down to their level - it really isn't worth it.
Unfortunately, this site (more than any other I've ever encountered) seems to be a breeding ground for some of the lowest life-forms (religious and non-religious alike) around - it will continue to be a problem so long as Yahoo continues to turn a blind eye. It's also the exact reason why I spend little time on Yahoo any more.
If you are after an on-line community where this sort of carry-on is far less tolerated, might I suggest you have look at Multiply.com - I moved most of my stuff over there a while back and to be truthful I've never looked back. The entire atmosphere there stands in stark contrast to Yahoo...may be the kind of thing you are after.
It beats getting an ulcer from the carry-on which so often occurs here.

You have asked two different and seperate questions. As to the first question, the answer is that YOU just won't go away. As to the second, this IS a free forum. Anyone has the right to say what they want, even the What Should I Do Retard. (although I WISH he would go to the Psychology Section.) Atheists have every right to be here. Their RELIGION is Atheism, whether they acknowledge that truth or not.
And evil is as evil does. Be nice.

Well, look at the pot call the kettle black. Trust me, it is, in many cases, the Christians here who are semi literate. Look at some of David Israel's posts if you don't believe me.
I'm not particularly ignorant; I have two bachelor degrees--one in history and one in music and judging from what I see on here, I know more about the Bible than most Christians.
I don't hate god; I just think he doesn't exist. I also don't hate Christians; I just wish they'd stop trying to dictate how I live my life. And for the record, I've never told anyone that they will be tortured for all eternity because they don't believe the way I do.

Excuse ME! i think of you are the single belittling atheists. we've each and every appropriate to be here and respond to questions concerning faith. regardless of each and every thing, that's what the subject count number is titled "faith & Spirituality" and that's for the objective of critiques on those matters so this is no longer proper while you're for or against faith. So end being a bully. Many questions are additionally directed in the direction of Atheists so there are additionally people who enter this section and are attracted to what Atheists attitudes are in the direction of faith. i for my section want Atheists to have the skill to respond to those questions fairly than have a Christian inaccurately portray an atheist as a devil-worshipping, porn-loving, uneducated immoralists. Plus, i do no longer hate God, he does not exist. What I dislike (no longer hate) is the end result that a perception in God has on maximum of folk.

So that the literate, the sober, the serious, the knowledgeable get to perfect their patience, tolerance and adhere to respect the 'words' -- usage againast abusage. Is it not a paradox that inspite of the information-explosion in the era of internet, there is so much ignorance, hatred, profanity, ugly thoughts of not only the atheists but, occasionally, of the religious and the sipiritualist also !

I dont know it sounds to me from the hatred in your question, you might want to ask yourself that. I think it is in adversity that we have to reamain true to what we believe. Take a moment and reflect on what it is that validates you as being on the righteous path with god. The comment you just made would convey to people that your not. I am not one to judge, because I know as man we are weak, but some would not see it as so. Take a breath, and remember not to let others still your joy. This is the true challenge of every man, no matter how you believe.
I wish you well.

How come you will judge other people? Who you are? You are not the god! This is the place every one have rights to express their feelings and thoughts with their own style like you express your opinion by your style which is uneducated & indecent way rightnow. This is my way so face it. If you don't have guts to face all criticizim in this place you shouldn't enter here. If you wanna see your type people you should be in your prayer hall. Any type of people can be here.

Some of us agree to disagree, and some of us think "you have to think my way or you are screwed". Obviously one of those is the more pleasantly amicable & mitigating result. Just kill them with kindness when they get hostile, it messes with their heads. I don't know why tho, I hope Y!A will give the atheists & wiccans there own section too, they should have one. They're a whole separate belief(or lack of) system.

Well, calling them semi-literate idiots, that is not very loving. They obviously do not know any better. And if you are a christian you should lead by example. What kind of example are you giving by calling them SEMI-LITERATE IDIOTS. Calm down and pray for them and pray for yourself some strength and wisdom in dealing with them. God bless

becasue people who beleive in religion are guilible, blind, ignorant people, who believe things that someone told someone that told someone that told someone that told someone that told someone that told someone.....etc...people who beleive in religion are too stuborn to ever accept other's belied...
look at the world...throughout history, nothing has caused more wars, fighting and violence then religion...how can people say regiligion does good, when it creates more bad then good?
Honsetly, i don't think it matters what fiction you beleive in, religion is just a way to control people...way back when, it was just a way to calm the masses when something couldn't be explained...why does the sun go up, and then come down (reletively)? because of god.....
