Yes. However; if you go too long without eating it will "trigger" a starve response and your body will start storing fat. There is a diet plan that works like this that has prov en very success full, but it's used by doctors...
the first 7 days your allowed say 1200 calories
then before your body can trigger the starve response you eat 1500 cals a day for the next 7 days.
Then you keep alternating. This keeps you body from storing fat and you will lose fat/weight instead. However; it is very important that you eat the right foods and take the right supplements.
It is best to see a doctor about this plan.

If you don't eat at all and lay in bed all the time, you would spend around 900 calories per day. These calories are used by the body to keep body's temperature, and to keep the organs working (your heart, brain, lungs and so on, they are working all the time). This calories consumption is called basal metabolism. The given value of 900 calories is an average; actually, every individual has different values and there is a medical test to find your own basal metabolism. But I think, the real point is another: it is, how restrictive can a diet be? The answer is, never go below 1200-1300 calories per day, and do some exercise. Otherwise, you might cause imbalances in your body about important minerals: potassium, calcium, phosphor, magnesium and more. Only in a hospital setting you could be allowed a diet under 1200 calories per day, as you are under medical control every day. The risk of potassium and calcium and... imbalance is serious. So, don't try too hard! Good luck!

You burn calories just sitting because you body has to generate heat, move the blood etc. Obviously, if you exercise, you will burn more.

well if you don't eat your metabolism actually slows down so you will be burning less calories if you stop eating copletley. you may want to limit your diet but defiently still eat enough that you won't starve. the best thing to do is just hit the gym and don't worry about eating too little. it is a bad idea to starve yourself

while i replaced into approximately your weight i appeared into this and it replaced into some thing like one hundred energy an hour, perhaps greater so for you to eat approximately 2500 energy an afternoon as long as your weight-reduction plan is balanced and healthful and you will not placed on any weight. i will in basic terms talk for myself and my top, i'm 6 foot a million, male and while i replaced into 115kg i had fairly some fat..i had to lose approximately 30kg on a similar time as putting on muscle to do away with it.
