NOTICE I AM A VEILED LADY ANSWERING THE QUESTION:
(Veil avatar and in real life)
Wearing a veil is by choice...: (It is mandatory in the religion so your choices are two: you choose to be in the religion or not to be in it LOL as simple as that :)
Hehehehehe!
Also please note that it has to do with where you are in the religion... for example my arents are christians but they do not see going to church as mandatory or confessing sins.... Where as when I was a christian I did see going to church as mandatory and I went to mass every day.
Like wise the veil issue... Some people think is a burden to them because of society ad pressure from peers. When I converted I did not wear the veil ight away. I was affraid of people hurting me, Or my boss firing me, my parents saying something Etc.... I wanted to be approved by society... Finally I said to myself... Who will I answer to when I die, God? Or Humans? ... Then I decided to wear the veil!

u choose to follow it or not. thats the choice.
the religion itself doesnt say you can choose to wear or not to wear. just the option to follow the religion or not. get it?

when laws of religion become the foundation for secular laws
see also Sharia law
some places in the world they choose to follow the laws that mandate the burka
if they choose not to, they can be ultimately put to death for a number of trumped up charges

They are choosing to follow the dictates of their religion. They enjoy being treated like chattel.

Dude, what's with the Muslim veil fetish, huh? You have three ridiculous questions on it. One is funny but any more and it gets old.

because i chose best religion...so i chose everything,as everything was best about it :) u don't find it,it's not for u.
religion, which is extremely important to me,which gave me everything....peace,respect,rules n guidance to lead my life..... n veil i think it's the best part of my religion...it gave me honour, diginity, respect,n confidence to move along every walk of life without fear.
i always found respect in eyes of men, instead of lust(only those saw me with disgust, who were racist n against Islam)but socially speaking covering ur body can NEVER EVER give a bad impression to any man, right??
i just love it.

They choose to follow that religion.
You also choose to obey whatever commandments you do.
