Hi there!
A gold star to you for wanting to take care of this before it becomes a problem. I think each body reacts differently but I'm really glad to tell you what has worked for me.

Diet: Years ago I decided to stop eating meat, and I was never a fish lover. I went vegetarian (I'm not promoting, just saying what I had done), and that winter I didn't get sick at all. The meat I ate the most was chicken so I suspect the farming methods for chicken farmers introduces something (in the chicken feed?) that was keeping me from being able to fight off colds.

I still eat a largely plant-based diet, but I've gone back to eating some meat .. mostly turkey. And I had an earache and sneezing/coughing week before last. For myself, I don't need much more proof that what I eat affects my ability to fight a cold.

If giving up or reducing the amount of meat you eat isn't an option, then do try to increase vegetables. And getting the right mix is simple.. just try to put a variety of colors on your plate. A salad for lunch will give you mostly light greens. At dinner, try for darker greens, some yellow (includes tomatoes and carrots). Your veggies should be at least one quarter of what makes up your plate at each meal.

Exercise: I'm a couch potato. But I noticed that when I did simple stuff like a 30 minute walk a few days a week, I had better resistance to what everyone else in the office was spreading.

Water: I am a BIG fan of water... I love to drink it and the more I drink, the better I feel. There are some pretty persuasive arguments for counting juice, coffee/tea, etc as 'water intake', but again, for myself, I only count regular water in my regimen.

Sleep: a big one... if your body gets enough rest, it will be better equipped to take care of itself when something nasty comes your way.

No magic bullets, really... just some common sense that I waited a lot of years to discover for myself.

Good luck... be well!

Well, most people seem to be a little sick like that in winter. Pretty much all I hear in winter is "*cough* *cough* AHHCHOO!" over and over again. Just take some medicine, get at least 8 hours of sleep a night and drink your normal amount of water. Eat well too, a healthy life style will make your imune system stronger. If you take cold/flu medince when you need too and you'll be fine.

I used to whilst i grew to become into in my young ones and that i did no longer get adequate sleep and quite whilst i began out smoking and putting out with pals with quite some smoke and staying up late or all night. Then I have been given strep throat alot to boot. I propose getting a competent 10 hours sleep a night, beverages quite some water generally going on and consume a competent weight-alleviation plan which contains culmination and veg. stable success. playstation I merely study somebody above pronounced echinacea would not artwork? That hasn't been my adventure in any respect. If i've got faith something coming near, I at present placed 30 drops of echinacea in a a million/4 c water or orange juice and drink it. I try this approximately thrice over a era of three hours.... in lots of cases does the trick for me. satirically diet C has by no skill worked, in spite of the undeniable fact that I honestly have heard it works for others.

firstly check your diet - eat plenty of `greens` and fruit. Secondly , take vitamins. Zinc is a cracker for keeping colds away and also echinacea from your local health shop. And i know this may sound far fetched but try and have a good laugh at something at least once a day - it s brill for flu bustin - works for me !

You probably have a weak immune system so I would suggest getting some Vitamin C.
