I'm tired and I looked at wikipedia and I didn't quite understand it. Please tell me exactly what it does. Also is there a way they can unpropertly(sp?) and if so what can it do to you if it's not working right.

NEUROTRANSMITTERS is the materials which release from the end of neurons to the synaptic space.this materials induce postsynaptic neuron and has an important role in signal transduction by depolarizing next neuron.NEUROTRANSMITTERS divided to two groups with different function and duration of acting.

Neurotransmitters are chemicals which allow cells to "talk" to each other. Insulin and epinephrine (adrenalin" are actually neurotransmitters. There are different ways that the actions of neurotransmitters can be stopped...which are caused by taking drugs or alcohol, among other things.

Neurotransmitters help move the nerve signal from one nerve ending to the next. If you don't have enough, signals dont get through. Too much means signals are spontaneously sent that are not real.
