Mav started thinking about Christmas. Mav's family doesn't eat ham at Christmas, Mav's girl offspring doesn't eat pork.
Mavs girl offspring ask her, "Why do people eat ham on the day we celebrate Jesus' birthday? Jesus wouldn't eat it, Jesus was a Jew."
Mav didn't have an answer for that.
Do you?

Your daughter's logic makes sense. She might be a vegetarian in the making because she is aware. I stopped eating any meat at all on any day because for me, to be peaceful I cannot benefit from the death of a sentient being.
I would just answer your daughter by saying--Yes, I understand your thought and that makes sense.
Ham eating is a cultural practice anyway. Ham tastes good until you really think about where it came from.
I don't normally preach about this but your question brought it to my mind. I don't judge meat eating at all. I only do what is right for me. I think I like your child. I know I like you.

Hi Mav. Muslimah Loves your questions and she likes andswering them. Mav is Right! Muslimah asked the same thing to her mommy and the mommy did not have answer either. Muslima used to be Christian. Muslimah Loves Jesus and Virgin Mary (PBUT). Mav is def right. Jesus (PBUH) Would not have eaten Pork... Muslimah Does not eat that animal either. Muslimah thinks Mav is pretty Smart! Mav should continue asking great Questions. Have a great day Mav. Muslimah's Husband read Mav question and Mav made hhim smile too.!
Muslimah knows that Jesus (PBUH) sent the demons unto the porks when he took them away from a possesed man!

Jesus may well have eaten ham for Christmas because he specifically said it is not that which entereth the body and come back out that defileth but that which comes out of the heart. He also told Paul not to call unclean that which he had called clean. So he might have even had a shrimp dinner if he so chose.

Strange. I, too, have lost my taste for pork. Even though it's cheap. Which is REALLY not like me. I know that all is lawful for Christians, but not all is 'expedient'. I doubt Jesus would care one way or the other.
Of course, they say the pig IS an intelligent animal. Maybe God sees it as a form of cannibalism?

i prefer ham to turkey
my son doesnt eat a lot for me, hes only 3, but he eats a lot for my wife
its not the same thing as a discussion about the food preferences of jesus,
my dad is 60 and last night we went out to dinner and ate shrimp
i told him about how in the bible in leviticus shrimp is an abomination, but in matthew jesus said the thing mortgage girl mentioned above, the thing about what you eat doesn't defile you
i talked about this yesterday with a lesbian woman i work with, about the hypocrisy i feel in seeing christians protest gay marriage but not red lobster, and how its not about god but their own homophobia
she agrees but thinks i would have a problem with gay marriage
wether its ham, shrimp, gay marriage,
my how the overlap of bible with daily life comes into play
i dont know if i answered your question
im sorry
im just some guy
i dont have all the answers
i know you will forgive me

Read Acts 10. One of the things that Jesus freed us from by His sacrificial death was the seperation of clean and unclean. It's not wrong to eat pork, and even if He didn't, it's OK if we do.

Jesus was a rabbi of the Jewish sect known as Essenes.
Essenes were strict vegetarians.
The word "meat" in the bible is a mistranslation of words simply meaning "food".
