I agree with Apostle Jeff. I wish I had never brought santa into my home. It was really hard to explain, Santa is not real, Easter bunny is not real, tooth fairy is not real, but please believe me that God is real. My child actually asked me, when she was 7 and found out at school, how can I believe God is real if everyone else is made up. I would never ever do it again. I feel you are experiencing pressure to keep up the santa clause thing, but you need to decide what is important to you, and if you are harming your child's belief in God then maybe Santa has to go, and who cares what the rest of your friends or family think about your decision. This is one of your most important duties, to protect and nurture your child's belief in God. in Christ, Tab

My cousins found out when they saw my aunt putting the presents under the tree. The tooth fairy they never really found out. They just lost all of there baby teeth. The easter bunny when they woke up early one morning to go easter hunting without waking up there mom. When they got out there they saw her hidding them.

That is up to you. I, myself, raised 3 children, but I wasn't a Christian at the time. If I knew then, what I knew now, I would have never let Santa and the Easter Bunny in my home. I still celebrate Christmas with gifts and Resurrection Sunday, but I put Jesus at the center of the Holidays instead of some made up character. I know that this would be harder for you to do when you have small children because of their relatives, friends, and neighbors. My suggestion for you is to eliminate Santa and Easter Bunny decorations and such. Put up nativity scenes and things that point to Jesus and what He has done. Teach your children why you celebrate these holidays and why you do not believe in partaking of ungodly pagan rituals. They will understand the truth and will respect you for not compromising with the world. We exchange gifts as we celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior. Our family does not feel that they are missing out. Jesus will make these Seasons special and you will be glad that you put the focus on Him.

let them believe they are innocent children they will eventually figure it out when they catch you putting money under their pillows. as for santa and the easter bunny its fun to play games with your kids give them something to look forward to around these holidays but you should also let them know that Jesus is the reason for these seasons. he gave them the real gift

Don't just tell them outright, it will dawn on them. Watch for signs of realization and when they ask, tell them that Santa is for little children and one of the great things about getting older is that you get to BE Santa and help Mom & Dad wrap and give gifts to children who still believe.

I involve the children in chosing presents for others and buying gifts to donate to local children's charities. That is a great time to explain that WE get to be Santa to those children. Santa is really the "Spirit" of Christmas.

Like another person who replied to your question, we also keep Jesus at the centre of our Christmas celibrations, which helps as the focus in not on receiving gifts but on sharing with others.

Good Luck!

DON'T let them figure it out by themselves all children will eventully just don't worry about it. Children have really good imagination usually involving people like santa and the tooth fairy to tell them they don't exist will just ruin their childhood, believe me. It is NOT fun watching children upset just don't worry.

NEVER, NEVER... Keep the magic alive, Christmas is never the same once you know Santa's a fraud!!

But to stop bullying, i think the Christmas before they start Secondary school, and to stop them telling younger siblings, tell them that you're Santa and they need to be your little helper. Enrol secret jobs for them to do.

Let believe as long as they want to because when they don't believe any more the Holiday's are not the same any more then you know they are not your babies anymore and stating to grow up and one of these days they are gone from you and you miss those times for Avery.

I have a 7 year old & she still believes. I waited with my other daughter until someone at school spoiled it. Then when she started asking questions I told her the truth.
