mixed reviews. mostly negative.people are not liking the new button arrangment and interface. The text menu "file edit view favorites, etc" is hidden by default setting. it can be turned on so it's always there, just by checking "menu bar" under the view/toolbars menu. but people don't know this and end up uninstalling the damn thing because they 1 hate the new look and 2, cant find the basic functions, such as pulling up your favorites.
i have been using IE7 since it was in beta, almost a year ago. I and a lot others warned Microsoft in the feedback forum that the new look was going to turn a lot of people off. It has. The microsoft team always replied with this is the browser that will be included with the vista os, the new interface matches vista, this is the new look, get used to it. pretty arrogant if you ask me.
Why you should download it: security. first, this is the now the official internet explorer. if you go to your windows update and look at the update history since you bought your computer, you will notice IE6 has had a security patch sometimes once a week for the last 5 years. I don't think they are going to continue patching a legacy browser for very long. Secondly, IE7 is by design, a far better and more secure browser. I have computers in my home running 6 and one running 7, the one running 7 has been running it for almost 8 months. i run three spyware scanners on all my machines. the computer running 7 finds nothing everytime. My wife's computer, after 2 weeks i can sometimes find 40-60 spyware programs installed. she's still running 6.
My advice; download it. take the tour that comes with it, get used to it. If you still hate it, download firefox, which is a great browser too. IE6's days are numbered folks. there's only one internet explorer, and it just got upgraded

Its still got Active X so its still unsecure unless you remember to turn that off until you actually need it. Seriously, how many websites do you use where you must have Active X on? You may as well leave the front door open when you go shopping.
Its still far too closely tied to Explorer. Thats another security issue.
Its got tabbed browsing; which means its just catching up with other browsers.
Loads of people are having trouble installing it; then finding they can't get back to IE6.

I'll stick to Firefox.

I downloaded IE7 a couple of days ago and just didn't like the look and couldn't find old familiar tabs and links. For me, there was no improvement so I ran a System Restore and went back to IE6. Before Christmas, I'm going to switch to a Mac anyway. I've had enough of Microsoft.

In a word: Ewww.

It has already crashed my computer once, so I'm speaking from experience. I found it awkward to use, also. It will take some time to get used to the re-arranged toolbar buttons, although it does offer an option to revert to the old toolbar. That, of course, takes up more of the screen real estate.

It had one feature, tabbed browsing, that I truly appreciated, even though it has some kinks to be worked out.

I'm a long-time Firefox user, and IE-7 still does not come close to the functionality of Firefox.

first of all, it is a information superhighway browser. Now, while in comparison with IE6, definite it is a severe replace. in spite of if IE8 is out too. you would be able to wanna improve to that. MS have mounted fairly some stuff on IE8. yet like continually, there are greater efficient information superhighway browsers accessible. attempt Firefox, Opera ....

It crashes alot, and the refresh button is not where it should be. I like the table and Quick tabs section is good.(view 3 or more tab pages like a table) The layout sucks.Look at the buttons and u will see.

wel, its faster and more secure than IE6. it has more feature like a RSS reader, and gives u plenty of screen space. the new tabs r gr8! but i do miss the big buttons --- they were easy 2 use
the new QuickSearch bar is very useful
IE7 is pretty good, but i still prefer Opera and FireFox

Since I can not run it on my older system (running Windows 2000) I have no opinion. Just wish that Microsoft had not left all of us behind who can not afford newer systems.

I've been running the Beta version for several months now. I really don't see any difference between the Beta and the offical version.

Too many bugs to be worked out. I use mozilla firefox. It's better, faster & more fun than IE.
