I've started leaving the stores. If you are looking at cards or something on a shelf, invariably a clerk walks down the aisle and excuses herself IN FRONT of you. This also happens when I'm shopping with a friend, and often doing expensive shopping. If we are discussing something, it breaks the chain of thought, and it's just plain rude. I have watched where these "busy" clerks go, as well, and it has never once been anything they were rushing to.
Small issue, but it always gets worse at Christmas time. If I were the owner and walking down an aisle, seeing that I was going to bother customers, if possible I would pop over to the next aisle, or at lease excuse myself behind the customers.

I think this all goes back to manners, many unfortunately have not been taught or have simply forgotten they have them and need to use them. Get out of the way or move is really unacceptable and very rude. This shows an extreme level of ignorance and should not be tolerated by any employees. I would report such abusive talk to the store manager. If you do not have manners and the common decency to use them you should not be working in the public. My opinion. How hard is it to say excuse me? I guess for some, very difficult. God bless

Oh my, my. EVERYONE is rude at Christime time! This is a very small issue and I don't think you should be too concerned about it. I walk with a cane, and I get pushed around all of the time. Sometimes when I get really aggravated, I'll tell that person they will have to go around me. But most of the time, I just let it go. It's not worth my time or trouble, and they won't change. Godloveya.

Yesterday I was at a major retail chain store and I had my son in the cart. Some guy who worked in the store came within an inch of crashing into us because he was too busy talking to his coworker. I should mention I was at a complete stop. I was too stunned to say anything, but I did give him the evil eye.

I can't walk and would LOVE to trade places with you. Try smiling and saying "that's ok" to the clerk. Maybe she has a certain amount of things to do in a certain amount of time.......Who knows? You can feel good about yourself, knowing that your good manners helped to make a kinder, gentler nation.

I agree with you, if there is space to walk behind you, then the employee has no business walking between you & the shelf. This goes for other shoppers as well.

It's annoying and what can we do?

They would not get in trouble for doing their job as they do excuse themselves.
