People think that, "If you do more good things than bad things, God will probably let you into heaven." The above thinking will reserve your place in hell. You need FAITH IN THE BLOOD OF JESUS. There are no good deeds that you can do on your own that will erase the sins that you have committed. Jesus SHED BLOOD for you sins. He came to save you from the GUILT of past sins and the POWER of sin over your life. The word "gospel" means "message"*. The gospel is God's message to mankind. If you will yield to the gospel, you will be reconciled to God and you will escape eternal damnation in hell and the lake of fire. Besides all of this, you will have abudant life right now as you walk with the Creator of the universe--in spite of all the woes the world will throw at you. If you are full of doubts, ask Jesus to help you to understand and to be willing to be saved. Revelation 14:6-7 tells us the message of the everlasting gospel--"Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come: and WORSHIP HIM that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters." There is only one way to do this--through the blood of Jesus Christ. REPENT ye and BELIEVE the gospel!

People call on the name of the Lord all the time, but are not saved. How many times have you heard someone make a deal with God - "God if you let me pass this test, I promise I'll do my homework" ? It doesn't mean that they are in God's will. God's will for us is to have a relationship with Him. In order to do that, we have to be pure and holy as God cannot stand sin. Since ALL fall short of the glory of God, none of us can come to Him on our own. So God provided a way for us to become holy to obtain a relationship with Him. God's true will is for all to accept the free gift of salvation through His only Son, Christ Jesus.

You are right, we should always be asking God what to do, this world is HUGE ~ how do we know we are doing His will? I base my life on these 3 things, LOVING God is first. This is by far the MOST important, but by truly loving Him & having faith, you will WANT to follow His commandments. Those are what He has given us as a guideline to our lives. No matter which religion, those rules are solid! (Pop quiz can u name all 10?) Second, loving everyone, this is how we show/prove to God we love & honor Him. Third, blessings. If you are blessed & happy in your life. If He blesses you with the little things (what u need, food, shelter, family, significant other) than I like to think we are on the right track. But I've always felt like what is good FEELS good, have faith in that my brother.

You are right on the first part. Let's look at some scripture:
Matthew 7:
21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity
Please note something that is missing in this. They were counting on the things they were doing for salvation. They did NOT say have we not trusted in Jesus for salvation. No amount of good works will save anyone. Only Jesus can do that.
Now the next part of your question...yes..Jesus did state that we need to do the will of His Father Let us look at what Jesus said that will clarify this..
John 6:40 And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.
The Will of God that we must obey to be saved...is to trust in Jesus Christ for full payment for our sin. If we disobey in any other area of doing His will after we have obeyed this...GOD promises us chastisement

See.
In the Con Game, this is called a "bait and switch."
The Christian dogma would have you believe that you only go to Heaven if you are "one of us". But here's the catch (and good of you to twig to it) ... even if you DON'T go to Heaven and somehow manage to communicate your condition to those not yet gulled into conformity to the dogma, the pitchman/priest can just explain your unfortunate condition with this very passage: "obviously he/she did not do God's Will."
Sheesh and other words of exasperation.
This "religion" has been promising folks pie in the sky for TWO THOUSAND YEARS and still no yummies for those poor suckers on Good Old Planet Earth.
The sad truth is that we only get one life to live. Live it, enjoy it, don't waste it.
If you "find God," it won't be in that book. It will be in life.
Enjoy the search.

You cannot Save (Recreate) yourself (a Spirit) by Works.
When you Call of the Lord and get Saved (Spirit Recreated) you are TRANSLATED into the Kingdom of GOD and are on your Way to Heaven.
Next, you gotta Learn how to ENTER IN to the Kingdom.
Basically, Walking in Holiness. This is Where you Learn How to Walk in the Power of GOD.
You get more Rewards working WITH GOD.
You can Call on the Lord and Get Saved and never Learn to Enter In to the Kingdom, and go on Home to Heaven.

Jesus replied, "I am the bread of life. No one who comes to me will ever be hungry again. Those who believe in me will never thirst. But you haven't believed in me even though you have seen me.
However, those the Father has given me will come to me, and I will never reject them. For I have come down from heaven to do the will of God who sent me, not to do what I want. And this is the will of God, that I should not lose even one of all those he has given me, but that I should raise them to eternal life at the last day. For it is my Father's will that all who see his Son and believe in him should have eternal life--that I should raise them at the last day."
John 6:35-40
The key here is belief. A one time acknowlegement of existence is NOT enough. Jesus must become the Lord of your life in every detail. When we sin, as we all do, we confess it, turn from it, and go on.
If we say openly that we have done wrong, he is upright and TRUE to his word, giving us forgiveness of sins and making us clean from all evil.
1st John 1:9

If you want to know God' will, simply pray to God and ask Him. When you do, He WILL answer you, but all in the time that He needs to. Sometimes God will give you what you need when the time comes that you need it. This takes faith my good man. God will never not answer your prayer. Sometimes He will answer it differently than you ask, and you just have to go with it.
