You can take up to 4 tablets (800 milligrams) every 6-8 hours, and take with food. That is prescription strength, so you should check with your doctor before taking. But I wouldn't do that often! Ibuprofen is not great for your liver or for women who are of child-bearing age.

But it works way better than Tylenol!

i have a box of ibuprofen 200mg tablets in front of me and it says you can take 1 -2 tablets with water but you must not exceed 6 tablets in 24 hrs. you can take paracetamol with these aswell

its matters on your bodywieght. im 6'6" and 225 lbs, i was told by a doctor to take three just for a headache. so compare yourself to that and figure if it should be that or more or less. remember, that is just a headache, i take four for more pain, five for a migraine.
