In less than 500 words, minus any Watchtower jargon, please state clearly how you hope to receive eternal life if you are not one of the "144,000".

For wgr88 - please read the question first before answering. If you had done so then you would be able to tell that I am not a JW. Thank you.

lillie - "...and then the PROSPECT of eternal life MAY just become a reality ?". Your explanation of how to (just maybe) receive eternal life sounds like "a different gospel" to me. "For the wages of sin is death, but the GIFT of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." Romans 6:23(NKJV)

read in your bible about the meek shall inherit the earth. because of Adam and Eve sinning we die, but that was not Jehovah God's plan for anyone to do. we where suppose to live forever. only the anointed go to heaven to be with Jehovah and Jesus Christ. man does not anoint people Jehovah anointed. by holy spirit. I don't know why people keep saying we are a cult. a cult worships man. like jim jones.. they do what man wants about eating, sleeping, making love or whatever. we are not brainwashed either. go to a kingdom hall in your neighborhood and learn about us. the kingdom hall does not have a doorbell either. if you are interested go to www.watchtower.org

Simply put, there are those who are the "Other sheep not of this fold" referred to by Jesus who get eternal life on earth not immortal life in heaven. The resurrections during his time on earth shows there are two types, the resurrection back to human life, as was the case with Lazarus, and resurrection to a spirit being, as was the case with Jesus, himself.

The Bible clearly says that only those born again go to heaven, so where did John the Baptist and the men hung beside Jesus go upon their deaths. The pouring out of the Holy Spirit was not done until well after his death, so none of them were Born Again.

Man was created to live on earth, not in heaven. We were created to make the earth a Paradise, and perhaps head out in to the rest of the universe to do the same. Since we will have the full use of our brains, we may even do it without the use of a space ship.

The witnesses don't promise heaven if you are good, or eternal torture in a fiery place if not. They don't threaten children with the damnation of hell if they don't obey their parents, or push away a molesting priest.

What they do promise is 1000 years of hard work, tearing down all the vestiges of this old system, the tall buildings and monuments dedicated to men, than rebuilding the Earth back into a Paradise. At the end of that 1000 years, Satan will be once again released to test mankind one last time before his final destruction.

Life after Armageddon is not going to be easy. It is going to be hard work, performed by humans with their full mental and physical capabilities. But, once that work is done, we will see a whole new worlds, and will have millions of other words to explore and terraform.

What we endeavour do do is to try and live our live by bible standards by making sure that our lives conform to God’s will and his commands. (Matthew 7:13, 14)
We are imperfect but we try our best and thats what God expects of us.
God promises that if we do this then we can have a reward (Romans 6:23.) A "gift". We cannot earn this gift. It is given out of love to mankind. No amount of works could ever earn it.

It was God's original purpose for man to live on the earth. If Adam had not sinned then we would be living forever now.
Romans 5:12 & Psalm 37:29
His original purpose will be fulfilled (Isaiah 55:11)

Jehovah created/designed man to live on the earth. He created a beautiful garden paradise for Adam and Eve and it was to be their home. They were created perfect and were to live forever. They were also to have children and fill the earth. That was God's original plan for mankind.
After they disobeyed and sinned, they lost all that not only for themselves for the rest of mankind as well.As their offspring we all inherit sin and death.
To have an opportunity for eternal life,Jehovah requires those who wish to serve him to take in accurate knowledge about Him and his son,Jesus.Speak to others about what they had learnt.Live their lives in harmony with His righteous standards. And then the prospect of eternal life may just become reality. But to receive this gift of eternal life, one is also required to remain faithful till death or till the end of this wicked system
So basically what you see us do is what God requires of his worshipers. So we are prepared to put up with the abuse and riducle - like Jesus did.Because the reward will be well worth it!

Knowledge:

John 17:3 says "This means everlasting life, their taking in knowledge of you, the only true God, and of the one whom you sent forth, Jesus Christ. "

Okay....No ' Watchtower Jargon' ( I prefer to cal it HYPE )...AND no Bible Thumping...

Here's the way Witnesses look at it:

The 144,000 are the RARE species of Human who have truly and completely dedicated themselves to God...

For the rest of us ( Faithful Servants ), God will establish an Earthly Kingdom, administered by Jesus, where all disease, disharmony, and sin will be eradicated...Humans themselves will assist in cleaning up our planet, making it possible for us to go back to the state that God intended when he made Adam and Eve...That mankind SHOULd live forever, naturally...

Personally, I don't buy into this crap...hahahahaha

But then this whole Jahweh/Jehova/Allah thing is a big, dangerous LIE...( In my humble opinion )
