I need some advice? My Parents left a living trust to one family member and she is now telling me, we will have a very long and dragged out process before anything is to be done with the trust. She also has said I don't need a copy of the trust? Am I not entitled to a copy? I would like to know what's going on with all the secrets?

Hi Tank64a,

Don't worry about the correct spelling :)

Yes, I'm old enough to vote. Since I'm in a different country, I don't think the laws are the same which would make hiring an attorney futile at this point. I suggested someone sits in as a proxy, but that was quickly dismissed.

You are correct about money, people are sad creatures who only think of themselves.

Thank you for your answer.

Depending upon your age, the secrets might be in your best interest. Sometimes living trusts take years to come into effect. A friend of mines father set his up for his children not to receive his inheritance until they are 62 years old. I set mine up for my children to receive when they are 28. The ages can be anything the people making out the trust want them to be. If I were you I would ask for a copy when you turn 18. Good luck.

U can get the copy of the trust deed from the office of the sub-registrar. No trust can be created w/o a registered document, trust deed. The question, however, remains if u have attained majority as per the law by which u r govered,

contact a lawyer. If all is in order she should have control of funds within days......if you are in the will then yes you should have a copy of the will - Some lawyers will give a free consultation. Good luck & take care.
