It's just superstition.. but I would suggest that you don't show him the dress while you're in it. You can show him a picture of it instead. This way he know what it looks like. It is better for him to see you in the dress as you're walking down the aisle for the first time, that way you'll knock his socks off. =) Congrats!

It used to be that way, but things have changed with the times.
Nowadays, some brides and grooms are actually getting their picturess taken before the ceremony even starts. I used to work at a golf club and we hosted weddings all the time. I saw this in about 5 of them.
Personally, I would want to see the look on my love's face as he sees the love of his life, in a gorgeous gown, looking beautiful, as I walk down the aisle towards him.

Traditionally it is "bad luck", that is if you believe in superstitions. Why would your Fiance' want to ruin the surprise? That's the whole idea of not seeing you until the Ceremony....it's called the element of surprise, so you can take his breath away! Sounds like he either does not trust your judgement in picking out a dress or he is starting to dominate the relationship by saying it's "his" money.......you better squash that right now or you will be in a relationship that is "his & hers" and no "OURS". This is supposed to be a joyous occasion, why ruin it by pointing out who pay's for what? Good luck, and Best Wishes to You.

No. What difference does it make if he see you in a every day dress or a wedding dress, you are the same person are you not?
I will bet, seeing you in your wedding dress will make him want you all the more.

If you believe in it, then yes it is bad luck...The groom isn't supposed to see the bride in her dress until she walks down the aisle.

It's just a superstition, means nothing. He should not be paying for your wedding dress, you should be!
It ended up that my fiance ended up seeing me, because we had a family blessing at my mom's home before the ceremony.
