A penny that someone else dropped, probably by reaching in their pocket for car keys. They might have dropped more money but everyone else picked up the dollars or quarters and left the penny. You never get the good stuff always whats leftover!

I work at a school and the number of pennies I pick up is like a second income but it all goes to charity so the kids are helping if they know it or not.
