Today is a major holiday for Hindu's. Most people I work with haven't heard of it.

Happy Diwali.

I'm not Hindu. But it's a major holiday -- like Christmas for Christians -- and I was just wondering how many have even heard of it. I never meant to imply that you or lesser for not having heard of it...

I knew. I live in an area of London with a high population of both Hndus and muslims, so I'm pretty much up to speed on all the festivals.
There are acouple of houses on our floor that have put up lights in their front windows, so that was a big clue!

Happy Diwali, everyone!

I live in Venezuela and did NOT know of this Indian festival until two days ago. Listen, if a person has nothing to do with India or it's culture, I doubt that he/she will ever know about Diwali. I learned about it chatting with someone from India just because I asked about the time difference and if he was going to work. He told me he had Saturday off because of the Diwali celebrations and recommeded a website for further info. By the way, are you Hindu? You cannot expect everyone to know about everybody else's beliefs. It is good to learn. Happy Diwali to you if you celebrate it.
