Anyone can lose a massive amount in the first 1 or 2 weeks but its keeping it off that counts. 2lbs per week is the sensible and realistic amount to lose.

It depends how heavy you are to start with and what diet you are following. In the first week its not unusual to lose around 7lbs in fluid retention alone. A safe rate of long term weight loss is 1 to 2 lbs a week but if you are very overweight these numbers will be different. Speak to your GP

Hi the safe amount of weight to lose in one week is 1-2lbs, i joined weight watchers last year and i was told that this is the amount of weight that i should lose each week, maybe more for some people, i know this women who was on weight watchers with me she lost 7lbs in one week. But that is far to much and is not healthy the lady even told her. I know it doent seem alot but you will notice and will get to goal weight very quickly.

Most slimming clubs say between 1 and 2 lbs per week. This is because otherwise you are losing water and muscle rather than fat. It also helps to promote healthy eating so that you are in good habits when you have lost the weight and it stays off easier than if you loose it too fast.

It depends on how overweight you are. If you need to lose 100+ pounds, dont be alarmed if you start dropping weight like its going out of style, that is normal. However its recomended that you keep it steady at a weight loss of 1-3 pounds a week

Usually the recommended amount to lose is two pounds. it is ok to lose more on some weeks, but don't try to lose more than 2-3 pounds weekly on an ongoing basis.

It depends what diet you are on. I was at slimming world and I lost 2 - 3 pounds a week which they said was average. I did lost 6 on my first week though but when I was on Atkins I lost 7lbs in one week (but put 10lbs on the next week when I came off it)

it matters how old but usually its 2-3 pounds
the first week is kind of misleading though because you lost like 8-10 most of it is water weight so dont be dis. when it comes back on

I have heard one pound a week is the safest amount. So why did I feel elated at weight watchers when I lost more than that?

between 1-2lbs. Its better to lose weight slower as it's more likely to stay off
