Love him & keep talking to him in your heart. Then be ready to listen & obey. But also test the spirit you are talking to there are many spirits but only one God. Once you connect with God you will know him every time. He comes with a feeling that can not be duplicated. But again beware there is one spirit that comes close in feeling It's a simple test. Just ask who is speaking in the name of Jesus Christ. They all must answer to this or be silent and go away. If the answer is God you got the right number.

1. Recognise that you need Jesus
2. Ask Him into your life
3. Pray and read your bible, get to know Him like you would anyone else, talk to him.
4. Go to a friendly church where people LOVE and KNOW Jesus who reside and get to know him more.
You will find that if you are willing to take step closer to him, You will see how evident he is in your life and you will know the Father the Son and the Holy Spirit who are all the same guy.

Those who know themselves will know the God. Ask yourself
why am I here (on earth) , what really am I made up of? Who actually created me? We are all dead without the soul. Look at the wonders of the earth that we live in, try to see the divine powers that had created everything just for the sake of mankind.
See it through your heart not your naked eyes. You will find the answer sooner

I will not assale you with Christian hyperbole or bible bashing.
Take some time to read as much as you can, not just the bible but other books. meditate( think a lot) about what God means to you and why he is important.
Think about who your God is, does he have a name? if so call him by it.Talk to him in your heart
Your relationship with God is a very personal one so take the time to think what he means to YOU and YOU only( forget priest, nuns, parents, teachers, friends),only then you will be able to have a personal relationship

God dwells within you as you. that is what prompts you to find answers. "when the student is ready the teacher will appear". I find the bible is a most difficult place to understand Gods word,there are many sources of truth,jesus and the bible are but one. Pray. It's the easiest answer I can give you.
The best way to know God personally is to talk to Him, and start a dialogue. It's also wise to read His sacred texts that He left for us to enjoy and learn from-- I'm Christian, and so I believe in the Bible. I do believe most standard religious texts will give you a running start, though.

It came as a surprise to me, when God first saved me, I went to a church, to get some Christians off my back, so they would stop inviting me to Church, But he let me know that night, that he lives, and he loved me, and he forgives me....After that I got honest with myself, and I started talking to him, like he was my father, my lord, and tried not to sound like anyone else I had heard pray, He wanted me, he didn`t want me to act like anyone, but me, He became my invisable friend, Invisable to the world, but very Visable to me, he was Visable In the prayers he answered for me, and the love I felt for him.
