The most bloodthirsty verse in the Quran:
[9:5] Once the Sacred Months are past, (and they refuse to make peace) you may kill the idol worshipers when you encounter them, punish them, and resist every move they make. If they repent and observe the Contact Prayers (Salat) and give the obligatory charity (Zakat), you shall let them go. GOD is Forgiver, Most Merciful.

That is not the most blood thirsty verse in the quran, but even if it was it proves one point I have made. islam commands it's followers to kill any one who will not submit to islam.

The Bible says that wars will be among us.

I do not even like the word religion. I believe that Jesus came here to free us from religions and teach us to have a personal relationship with God.

There are at least 109 identifiable war verses in Koran. Every 55th verse is the war verse...they are scattered throughout Mohammed's chapters like a blood splatter at the crime scene. Still I am looking a reason to call Islam as a religion of peace, because I believe that we are here to learn to love one another.

We should stop killing. We should respect and love each other.

As an American I think that we only need to respect the RIGHT of a person to have a belief. We do not need to respect what they believe.
If their beliefs interfere with our freedom, then we have a right to rebel (verbally, legally, etc.) against them.

first step to this would be respecting the other religions's right to exist.

if you can't do this... you don't respect them.

this is a severe problem for religions that claim to be exclusively correct. (such as most of christianity and islam)

We should respect each other as people and respect life...but we need not respect anyones religion...it should be personal and kept to oneself and then there is no need for religious conflict.
