The maladies that result from a poor diet and sedentary lifestyle like diabetes, heart trouble, high blood pressure, and so on are just not worth the little bit of pleasure you get from "treating" youself to the joys of life like ice cream and television. The good feeling you get from attaining your ideal weight through proper diet and exercise simply make you feel good about yourself and you look good too. You can do more things, you will live longer, and you will be healthier and ward off disease more quickly... if you get sick at all. I've lived both ways, experienced the maladies of poor health, came back to good health, and I know what I'm talking about.
