My husband will be turning 33 next month. He works really hard and is such a wonderful dad to my two little boys. I would really love to do something special for his birthday this year. Due to a monster mortgage i can't afford to do anything too expensive. I am sure you guys can come up with some great ideas for me.

I agree that men don't seem to put the same "needs' into having their birthdays noticed as women do.
But yeah get the kids to make him something special, maybe have a friend take a photo of the three of you and frame it. This doesnt have to cost much with digitals now days. Think of something you maybe can't afford on a regular basis......like beer in the fridge, dinner out, friends over for drinks and supper, a movie with just the two of you, and if he is anything like what most men seem to be there has to be "birthday sex " :)

Give him some Loving and Attention ! Men love it ! Some men are not big on gifts there happy with just the Attention and some loving! really ! Mine is !! You don't need money to buy a gift, wear something sexy for him if he likes that , play a game together like strip poker or something !! Spend some time with him for his bday !! Make his favorite cake and put a candle on it if you have one! any candle will work ! If he don't have plans to go out and celebrate then celebrate at home with some alone time,get a baysitter or put the kids in bed ! Good luck, have fun!

Usually guys measure the word "special" in much smaller, simpler terms than we women do. Taking him out to his favorite restaurant would be great! Or even just a restaurant that he likes if he has no favorite. Or, get him a movie (dvd or vhs) that you know he would like and doesn't have. Or, even cheaper, tell him you and the boys will be his helpers for the day, and help him out or do things he wants to do. And---have the boys (if they are old enough) color or scribble him a homemade birthday card.

well sis, you could do a painting together with your little boys on a headboard, with the kids using their creativity & yours about how all of you feel about him, u can poster colurs & oil pastels which are cheap & readily found at all art shops, once the painting is done , get a ready-made frame to mount it or get it framed whichever is cheaper. since you said tht he's always busy, you have all the time to paint & give him a pleasant surprise. cheap & great idea for you sis.

how about u and ur boys make him special gifts and cook him a lovley meal include the boys in all of this maybe let them serve some food. then tuck the boys in or have a babysitter (like ur mum) pick them up and then u give ur husband ur own kind of special gift. it may not be all lavish but its cheap and from the heart.

Wake him up with a great bj (sorry if that sounded slutty), make him breakfast (along with the kids), then ask him if he wants another bj after breakfast.....do that several times throughout the day. Tell him that your his for the day....whatever he wants. Then see if he wants to see a movie later, watch sports or whatever makes him happy...maybe invite some friends over later on for a bbq

Take him out to dinner and then maybe a drive in movie if theres any nearby. Also if your good at writing poetry write him a poem, I did for my boyfriend and he loved it! Good Luck :)
