Is it just me or does VA act like it is run by a group of kids at recess?
Also could you breify explain your horror story so I don't feel like I am alone.

I am not a Vet but am married to a Vietnam Vet and we have been fighting with the VA for 3 years. The medical services are supposed to be the best in the country...BS. My husband suffered from prostate cancer plus other health problem. Th VA had to do something about the cancer -- Agent Orange -- but have ignored his other problems. He also put in for PTSD and was turned down flat. Now they are cutting his benefits from 100% to 40% and the fight goes on. You can bet the folks who turn you guys inside out over benefits have never served a day in the Military and if any have it was as a clerk for some officer. Ever heard the term REMF? That's what those guys were. Now the government is reevaluating Vets who receive benefits for PTSD and you can be assured a lot will be dropped. I don't want to get in to the current war or the deserving young people coming home and needing help from the VA because I hear horror stories. I've been saying for a long time now that the VA budget can't withstand helping old Vets and all the new ones coming home.

well, they turned down my claim all the way to the BVA and after the BVA hearing, their letter to me told me that the local VA had done nothing on my claim, seemingly it had never been read, for more than 10 years.
The problem is congressional oversight, the republicans are not holding oversight meetings on any agency of the government.

Sorry, I just do not have enough of your horror story to compare. I used to work for the Veterans Adm. a long time ago, and they were pretty stupid, so I will just take your word for it.

I agree with 110%. The VA is a corrupt and children are in it. I applied for a PTSD claim and was shot down. "You never saw what you claim to see." Your unit was never there. What a crock of poo.
