I'm white & my boyfriend whom i love is mixed & have a beautifull brown skin. I'm attracted to brown skinned men, more than my own colour or blacks. Eyes on us everywhere we go, but we don't give a dam. My white girlfriends are trying to talk me out of my relation with him. Are u or have u been in a similar situation ? Why people try to wreck ur relation, if u chose different ?

well hi there your story really struck me ,

ive been in a position similar to your where i was inlove with maltese man and i have an asian background and have never actually dated any background beside asian,
i was very confused as my family have always insisted i marry an asian, my family made me rethink my relationship with him and stupidly enough i did , i am very sure he was my soulmate that i let slip away...

so DONT let your friends or family get to you , if you love this man then dont let anything get between you becuase if you do then one day you might regret it.

I'm white, my wife is black (and incredibly beautiful). We have two adorable babies who charm everyone they meet. Additionally, my wife had two little angels before we got together, and over the past 7 years they have been as beloved to me as if they were mine by birth. I can't speak for the rest of the world, but I can give you two bits of advice that may help you.

The first is that skin is like christmas wrapping paper. It comes in all different shapes, colors, and textures; some plain, some exquisitely beautiful, and most somewhere in between. You must decide for yourself which is more important: the wrapping, or the gift that lives within it. Would you rather have the perfect gift in a plain wrapper, or would you prefer the fancy paper wrapped around a pile of garbage? The choice is yours.

Secondly, I would tell you that true friends are happy for you when you are happy for yourself, whether your choices are choices they would make or not. True friends will celebrate your happiness, and will comfort your pain. They will not try to run your life by their preferences. Bottom line: if they aren't paying your bills or warming your bed then they have no place trying to tell you how to run your life.

Find the person who makes you happy and treats you with respect, dignity, love, kindness, and passion. It doesn't matter if he (or she) is white, black, red, brown, yellow, or green. If your "friends" can't handle it, then so be it.

Good luck, and may God bless

Are you in America? It always seems to me that Americans are less accepting of such relationships. I am Indian, from the UK, and have been out with white guys. I know lots of people in mixed relationships. You should go out with whomever you are attracted to and feel an empathy with. Don't let others bully you or control your life. At the end of the day, we're all human, and it's a great person who can see through the superficialities (such as skin colour etc) to see the true person inside.

My family or friends have no problem with such a thing as race or colour. Religion, yeah. But since theyre not very religious nor spiritual...they really have no weight to any arguments about that. I win any argument there! In the beginning of a new relationship, always, friends and family will have their protestations. It's fairly common and normal and something that eases over time and experience. As long as your partner treats you well and is a good person, family and friends will always come to accept and love your partner.

Don't listen to your friends, if you can call them friends. They are being shallow and thoughless. If you truly love someone what does it matter what the colour of their skin happens to be, or what religion they follow? Love is loving someone for the person they are and has no boundaries. It's a shame that skin colour matters so much to some people. I think you should find new friends who respect you for what you want rather than trying to change you.

I wouldn't date/marry outside my religion because religion is a very important issue for couples to deal with and if you don't have to why cause the issue? I would date/marry outside my race because I don't care. Everybody has palms of the same color.

My husband is white, like me, but race would not have been a factor in whether or not I would have a relationship with or marry someone. However, I could never have the kind of connection with a non-Christian that I do with my husband. My *friends* aren't all Christians, though.

Where do you live? I can't imagine anyone having a problem with you dating a "brown skinned" man. You must live way out in the cut or something. Besides, after reading some of your questions, it seems like you have a bit of a racist edge anyway. Especially when you say things like this: "i do not date black . i like brown , not black . i like only white girls for friends."
You reap what you sow.

Yes, but why make things more complicated than they already are. I married someone from a different country but sometimes cultural clashes (although we are both from western Europe) are difficult. The more similar you are the easier your life will be together!

I dated a black girl when I was younger. Something about her really turned me on. She was looking to play the field at the time. I definately would go out with her or another black, asian girl anytime, as long as i liked them, and they me.
